Patch 2.7.0 notes released, but

while indeed update to Followers is amazing and very welcomed, the update to leaderboards with those filter is very good…

there are 2 thinks that practically make Diablo3 to not be a ARPG anymore.

  1. is the nerf to DH GOD skill(hungering arrow now can pierce only 2 times) <<< this will destroy the set that they just created it few patches ago
  2. the nerf to Mundugungu Regalia WD set via Gazing Demise nerf. I understood the nerf to this set applied in 2.6.9 because indeed at that point the set was way too op, but now, by nerfing this set AGAIN(a set that they just created few patches ago) is practically destroying the set

why those changes make D3 not a RPG anymore? in this kind of games your progress counts for the feature, your items that farm a lot for is your flavor of time… when DH players farmed a lot for GOD set build, when WD players farmed a lot for Spirit Barage build, when they now see the time that they invested is now == 0 then only one think can happen:
GOOD BYE Diablo franchise at all(go play yourself D2R and D4) and move to POE, Last Epoch… …
we are not your rats Blizzard, to put us to farm for set and items that you next patch destroy!

Several years ago the lead developer of D3 stated that a player should not experience that his or her hero over night would be significantly weaker. That principle has been abandoned long time ago. Sadly!

Yes, I remember that. Even with that promise, I understood e.g. the nerf they did I think in patch 2.6.9 for WD Spirit Barrage build, the one with not considering anymore Phantasms as Pets, after that nerf WD SB is doing ~3x less damage as before. This let’s say is ok, because indeed Phantasm as pets was a mistake.
But now this nerf is un-explainable. WD SB will do 2x less damage, this will effectively destroy the build. That build for solo anyway is week now due to the fact that defense is a big probelm in solo playing that. In party, WD needs supp monk and supp barb to perform at 135+, with that nerf WD will be able to do 130 instead of 135 and no supp monk and barb will want to run 5 tiers below. Practically is the end of a set release few patches ago. This is something totaly not welcome in ARPG games.
Also, GOD DH is dead. Was not easy to get the items for that build and now will be useless.
Why will be the reason to continue playing Diablo franchise after this? What to play? try to do a build several months then they release a patch which make it useless?

If their intention was to prevent any / too many builds being solo GR150 capable, I can just about see why they would nerf the GoD DH, but this change absolutely destroys it. Changing Hungering Arrow to only being able to pierce twice is such a huge blow to the build. The main advantage of the extra pierces was why grouping mobs up was so important, as HA has a maximum travel distance, so a tight group of mobs means it can hit more of them, and thus increase the damage done by 70% / 140% / 210% / 280% and so on. It’s also why finding elites with Missile Dampening was such a boon to people fishing for high GR clearances, as it means the HAs actually just repeatedly hit the same elite with ever-increasing damage.

The only thing I could hope for is that the change of HA to just 2 pierces was a typo and they meant 20, which would still be a nerf but not so extreme. Failing that, there should be a massive outcry on the PTR forums from Thursday night as people test their non-seasonal GoD DHs and see how many GR levels the change has cost them.

I’d estimate this is easily a 10-15 GR nerf which, as this is pretty much a DH’s one and only solo pushing build, is horrid. Shadow/Impale or LoD/RapidFire is nowhere even close to this.

Likewise for the WD. They’ve taken the class’s one and only push build, which was already way behind a lot of the other classes, and weakened it further.

Just in case it’s in any way unclear, I’m 100% supporting your opinion here. I don’t know why they’ve been so extreme to the DH and why they’ve targeted the WD at all.

That’s a guess but I think if the hungering arrow nerf hits dh really hard they are going to undo it. We can give the feedback and convince them not to destroy this build. I mean If they really wanna nerf it they can so by other means. Also the wd nerf kind of undeserved if you think that some other classes get a 6-digit multiplier now.

Like removing the missile dampening elite affix, for example.

Simplest way to try and convince Blizzard is on the PTR forum with DH players saying what GR they could clear non-seasonal pre and post 2.7.0 and see how many GR levels difference it is.

It was okay that a snowball could kill a GR 150 RG and zdps heroes doing 150’s (if I remember correctly)… but the effect of missile dampening monsters is too op!

I understand that people aren’t happy with the nerfs to GOD build and the SB WD but please remember 1 thing, there is a ptr for these changes first, believe me when I say so much can change within 2 weeks of a ptr. They can recognize how bad these changes are and could improve it with a buff. My advice with ptr patch notes before ptr is take it with a pinch of salt before going overboard, things can and will change.

Blizard know only NERF,no more…When i start farm for higher GR’s blizard nerfed it.Solo dream’s dead with God DH,meta dream’s dead with WD SB Nerf’s…7k+ para players can 150gr.And its a normal!!! How many years i need too play for GR 150 now? like 10k para?

Someone posted this in the us forum. Nunber of wd 150 clears: 1. Nunber of necro 150 clears : 229. That is in season 22 before further nerfing wd. Of all that they figured wd was the op class, not only that but they introduced two more gr150 clearing necros and nerfed wd and the only other class that could look them in the eye (dh). Necro is going to have 5 S-tier builds now in season 23 and 2 A-tiers. Wd is going to have just a robust build which is not bad like every other wd and their mother but not even in the top 10 spot. That is just by calculating the damage output of the classes. Necro also unkillable either by rathma shield (4 seconds invulnerability after casting lotd or aotd) or crimson + land of the dead. Wd has to sacrifice 1 ring (rorg), 1 weapon + 1 bracers, 1 minor set (crimson’s) to achieve the same amount of toughness than any other class gets with one generic ring or belt. Lol. Nerf wd guys… it was too fun to be strong. This is so lame. Even power creep would be 10 times better cause that would mean that every class has high numbers. Now, they are buffing the dlc class to ridiculous numbers every season to sell more dlcs and keeping every other class strong for a season only at best. So this power creep basically but just for one class only and all the other competitive strong classes are getting the short end of the stick. I am sorry but who is responsible for these changes ??? I am pretty sure next season we are going to see tragoul added to the long list of op necro builds and wd will drop to d - tier cause the 20000 dmg multiplier from mundu is too fun to even be in the b - tier bracket. But yaaaaayyy guys we got zombie bears last season so we can clear torment 16 now with bears, omg I can’t believe that wd are so lucky. Also they are somehow turning dh from an actual class to a hungering arrow class.

Besides Followers update and Leaderboards, which are OK, the rest if a total mess:

  • GOD DH is not doing damage anymore
  • WD SB is almost destroyed
  • Firebird Wizz is a total mess. interraction FB4-TR6 is completely OP
  • Necro update is completely OP
    ^^^all this need hard rework… normally, but who know, devs may consider that updates are ok…

I totally agree. The changes to the followers show that the crew is competent but then some leader of the team (or whoever is in charge) makes some idiotic changes destroying two builds. Or was it a mutual decision? After coding the follower system they had a party, got drunk and said “now that we’ve made a lot of players happy with upgrading the follower system why not take the p#ss on some of them too and make a true demise of Gazing Demise and make it gear of the deadlands instead of dreadlands?”

Kind of irrelevant but there is an item very underrated it seems. Gloves of worship. Shrine effect lasts 10 minutes. You could open a cow level with bovine bardiche. These levels usually generate a tone of shrines. If you activate all of them, they stack with amazing results. You could end up with double everything. Double toughness, double attack speed, double cooldowns, etc…Your stats will skyrocket. For example, I have tried it and ended up with 75% cdr on a hero that had only the base cdr just from paragons …Now the problem is that it is still very clunky and situational. If you waste your time gathering shrines before you push you might end up with a bad map nevertheless and it would be all for nothing. It would be nice to see more of these type of items allowed for emanate. Also I have this crazy idea that they could introduce follower gems in the future.

(Maybe you get, and keep, the shrine effect, if you get it after accepting the rift/greater rift.)

In 2 22 i could solo Gr 125 easy and i did not spend much time to make the DH GOD build. in PTR S23 GR 109 is as doing GR 125 in S22. So there is a difference due to the nerf. su cks

and at the same time they’ve buffed the Necro so that it can one-shot a level 150 Rift Guardian!!!

The gloves only affect shrines. Aren’t most of the things in Not The Cow Level pylons? Regardless, any buffs you obtain outside of a Rift / GR are removed when you enter / re-enter them.

Yes indeed they still count as shrines ( I double checked that,you get them for 10 minutes) but do not carry over to the gr. A mistake on my part. I opened a normal rift to test this and it worked but not in grs.
