yup rip LoD hydra wizard. i have no intensions of playing the new set. Quick season journey for the pet and then back to Wolcen. Thx blizz good job after your nerfs im guessing most players will chose poe league over season 20.
I was also disappointed with the nerfs but then thought about how we may have become accustomed to power creep with D3. It’s almost expected that the new sets should be slightly OP at the least. Of course it is fun to play a powerful build and make good progression but this power creep thing just makes other builds obsolete removing diversity and fun I think. Trying to figure out which class will be powerful enough and fun to play …
This isn’t the right forum but what is your experience of Wolcen so far please?

Critics werent that good, So passed for now
my dissapointment is with blizzard buffing the set and nerfing the LoD build. in my opinion a set should never outpower a LoD build cause thats way harder to complete

They probably thought “hey, let’s start the season the same day the new poe season launches so we can just nerf all new introduced stuff to the ground so we don’t have any actual changes to last season so we don’t have to balance anything because everyone’s going to play poe anyway”

The TV variant of Hydra took a hit too. The buff to the 6p bonus (1200% -> 1300%) is virtually insignificant. To reach even the power level during the latter half of PTR the 6p bonus should be roughly 2300%.
And let’s not forget that the damage mitigation of the TV is apparently still broken.
the set started out at 10k 6p bonus so thats a 30% increase in the end. Now the difference between Set and LoD version is like 1-2 grifts in season ( not talking about the 10k para no life or bot scumbags). So putting in way more effort for LoD build is just useless and not worth it
You’re missing the point. The 30% increase to the set’s power from the first iteration is absolutely insignificant. Because the support items took a massive nerf, all Hydra builds got gutted.
Here are damage multipliers from the set and support items from different iterations:
PTR1: 101 * 7 * 7 = 4949
PTR2: 121 * 5.5 * 5.5 = 3660.25
Live: 131 * 4 * 4 = 2096
As you can see, the TV Hydra does almost 60% less damage overall than the first iteration.
The LoD variant lost roughly 2/3 of its power but while it took even bigger hit than TV, it is still superior.
I am one of those romantics that play something because it’s fun not because it’s strong.
This season the new crusader eclipsed everything. I never really liked it though.
Climbing the leaderboards means nothing to me. It has happened a few times if the build I was playing that season happened to be also powerful.
Maybe give it a try see how it functions once the season starts. I m pretty sure it will be legit even with the nurfs.
