PC control input and local co-op?

Is D4 likely to have gamepad support and local co-op functionality for the PC version?

I can’t for the life of me understand why the only multiplayer options in D3 were having to have two PCs and two copies of the game, or going to a LAN meet-up - or pair-up with randomers online. More so when the archaic X360 managed both features without hassle. Get a friend around - pass a spare controller and away you go.

Being sat 2ft from your monitor, using ONLY keyboard and mouse for a game that really isn’t well-suited to it, was more than a little weird. I can, with a extreme pinch of salt, take onboard the account issues with multiple characters - which is the main character/who plays as a guest account, etc. But programming-out the functionality of a standard console gamepad went beyond logic and bordered on the line of being petty.

A PC should be able to use a pad with this game - just in the same way that a console player should be able to use a K&M if they so wish. The much smaller Larian Studios aced this with their arguably more complex games. It puzzles me why Blizzard can’t match basic features such as this.

Due to this, D3 was played on an elderly console that could barely cope - rather than on a high-end PC with all the bells & whistles on. I really do hope that D4 doesn’t follow the same, strange path.
