Petrified Scream

Season 35

It’s becoming increasingly frustrating with the nerfing of Petrified Scream drops. The experience is no longer enjoyable. For five consecutive days, I have been pursuing this item in Greater Rifts 85-95, and it simply won’t drop! I fail to understand the reasoning behind this decision. Each season, the developers—or whoever is responsible for the game and its seasonal revamps—seem to make one or two items nearly impossible to obtain. Typically, this involves a Legendary item or weapon, and this season Petrified Scream. Blocking my progress is truly absurd, especially since I want to complete the Altar of Rites. Why would you reduce the drop rate of the necessary item for the Altar? What was the intention behind this decision? Were we expected to grind Greater Rifts until our bodies become numb and our lumbar discs are permanently curved from sitting in the chair playing?

I genuinely need an answer from someone responsible, even a customer service representative. I spoke to several people in the chat who were offering to run the Scream portal. My response was, “I don’t need a P.Scream portal; I need an actual item! to finish my Altar of Rites”! The drop rate for this item has been definitelly nerfed, just like the Gibbering Stone!? Regardless, this won’t motivate me to play D4, which I pre-ordered and was disappointed with. Do something about this: make this item more accessible, or not? I refuse to spend another minute chasing this pipe dream. I’m returning to SWTOR and GW!

Especially since there was no nerfing.
It’s just a feeling you have.

Petrified Screams have a chance to drop in any GR level, they are not “connected” to higher GR levels.

So, if you are not going purely for XP/drops, play anything you can finish under 60 seconds.

Good luck!

I took a look at your DH build. Your gems don’t reflect that you run GRs around level 90. They are around level 35 all three and Stricken doesn’t do much good at these GR levels, the damage stacking from Stricken only works on a single monster at the time no matter how many you hit. So Taeguk should be used instead.

And screaming(!) at Blizzard representatives won’t help.
