Progress lost when joining game after exiting

Hi,

I’m playing D3 again after many years.
It happened to me a few times now that the progress hasn’t been saved. I was playing seasonal and now campaign mode. Really sucks when you have to do the same quest all over again.

Is this an issue or am I doing something wrong. I always leave the game first before exiting Diablo.

Could someone also explain when D3 saves, does this happen at every checkpoint or just after each quest?

Haven’t played campaign in a looong time. You have to complete each of, the often small, quests before leaving the game. If you want a pause while playing you can press “esc” button… I don’t know how long you can stay in pause mode before being losing the game connection though.
