I’ve already determined that a Hellfire Ring works as designed when it is equipped on a follower.
My question is this:
If I’m playing a Wizard and I craft a Hellfire Amulet of Intelligence and subsequently equip said amulet on my follower, does the random passive crafted into the amulet apply to my character also, effectively giving my Wizard five passives instead of four?

Hellfire rings and amulets can be great for solo levelling and equipped both on your level one hero and the follower.
The hellfire ring gives a 4.5% XP bonus to a level 70 hero. When a follower wears an XP item, the hero only receives 20% of the benefit. That means your hero is receiving a 0.9% XP bonus by your follower equipping it. That’s pretty trivial compared to the benefit that other rings on your follower can grant to the hero, e.g. Wyrdward, Oculus Ring.

I use the Hellfire Ring combined with Leoric’s Crown (socketed with a Flawless Royal Ruby) to get myself from 1-70 quickly. Once at 70 I replace the them with other equipment.
My question was: If I equip a Hellfire Amulet of Intelligence on my follower, will my hero still gain the class passive rolled onto the Amulet when crafted?
It appears not, after all…
