I have 6 stash tabs on PC. I hadn’t played much D3 for a few years. I found out I could increase my stash size by doing this Conqueror thing in the season journey. I was under the impression that my rewards would be mailed to me after the season was over.
Now that the season is over, I’m finding out I had to claim my stash tab during the season? Thanks for wasting my time. It’s also really, really stupid that the season journey tab can’t even be LOOKED AT now that my seasonal character got demoted to non-seasonal (and the new season hasn’t began yet), but I’m pretty sure that I completed the stuff below Conqueror as well–just in case.
I’m torn between asking for GM help, like I would in WoW, or just quitting Diablo for another few years. Given the hype around D2: resurrected, maybe Blizzard has figured out that people liked the serious and grim tone of Diablo 2. Marius sold that s**t like no one else.
If you complete the journey up Conqueror (and obviously everything below it), the extra stash tab will be awarded immediately, usable both season and non-season. There are no extra steps to claim it.

So, the maximum number of Stash tabs is 13, but it takes five seasons to obtain the ones that are awarded via the Conqueror chapter of the Season Journey.
As Kirottu mentions, the tab is awarded immediately upon qualifying for it, it’s not something that happens at the end of the season.
You can confirm whether you obtained Conqueror in Season 24 (and prior seasons) by viewing your profile and looking at the Seasons > Season 24 > Records section, as shown below (mine shows I completed Guardian)…

Have you bought all the available stash tabs ? The last one costs 500K gold.
If you have bought all the available stash tabs, then you probably did not complete all the Conqueror objectives, as well as all the objectives of the other levels prior to it (Chapter I, Chapter II, etc…).
As shown in the table provided by @Meteorblade, 6 stash tabs is what you would have with Diablo III & Reaper of Souls (RoS).
