A very good day, dear Bliz and Community.
I’d like to find out:
- Where is the Altar of Rites (AoR) in standard (non-seasonal) game mode?
- Where are my sanctified items made during S34?
Please, help me to understand:
- There will be no AoR but in seasons?
- Seasonal items and materials are thrown away after season ends?
Thanks for the information, time and patience.
Thanks a lot!
It’s a bad surprise there is no AoR and Visions in non-season…
And it’s a bad luck to loose all your sanctified items every new season and upgrade altar from the very beginning once and once again… is that normal really? I’m confused and disappointed a little bit…(
Rejoice… you won’t lose any sanctified items at the end of next season (Season 35)…
.
.
.
because there won’t be any sanctified items next season…
But yeah… starting from scratch is the norm in each new season. That’s the whole idea of seasons… you can read about the new season features here:
Best of luck in your games !!

There has been a huge outcry about getting the Altar in non season but to no avail sadly. Seasons weren’t in Diablo 3 from the start. In the early seasons some new powerful items were introduced. They could only be farmed in season but when season ended they were transferred to non season and could also be farmed in non season as a new part of the loot pool. Sometimes there could be a special event in season that wasn’t in non season.
Then came a new type of seasons where special items could be farmed or made but these items would disappear at season end.
Without the Altar non season isn’t attractive to most players anymore. To new players there are still lots of things to do and try out in the game of course; different classes and builds - even playing through the campaign with different classes.
Next season nothing will be lost, except the Altar. Another thing is that it’s a good idea to clean up one’s stash before season end to avoid sorting out too much of the mailed stuff.

Seasons rotate, so in the future the season with sanctified items, which has just ended, will reappear. It’s a bummer about the altar because it offers so many good quality upgrades and we’ve been asking for it in NS but blizz refused. At least each new season has the altar, although you have to unlock it from the start each time.
