Thoughts on the new PTR patch notes that need testing?

Patch notes here: https://eu.diablo3.com/en/blog/23059434/patch-266-ptr-now-available-25-07-2019 (We still can’t link Blizzard sites).
Personally, i’m not sure about the Flavour of Time change. It sounds awesome but i’m concerned that it’s overpowered and could be deemed compulsory for GR pushing.
The LoN bonus being reworked into a legendary gem is great, now we can continue using 2 or 3 ring powers with LoN builds. It will even be useful more early now, giving us half benefit for non-ancient legendaries.
And new legendary powers on legies that currently have none is great news. Those, and the crafted sets with updated bonuses, seem to me all potentially viable with the right builds. I hope they modify Echoing Fury to not roll with a chance to fear on hit anymore though. I also will enjoy making an IK set build that uses Mortick’s Brace.
I wonder how much of this will make it to the live server unchanged. Hopefully at least most of with some minor tweaks, or maybe even all of it.

no its not. you have to sacrifice one of your other gems wich is a big dps loss

How else could they have implemented it? It needed to be gained from an item not as a free buff, that would have gone against D3’s core design element of gaining powers from items.
Face it, the free buff idea was messy and counter-intuitive.

they could turn the set into one single legendary ring

I get the sense that you think nothing is ever good enough for you. Because it’s a gem power instead of a ring power it’s bad because of a dps loss? As a gem, you can simply use an extra dps ring instead.

losing a gem is waymore damage loss wich makes LoN builds crap again like before season 17

How could they just skipped the barb buff…
Very dissapointed…

Well, just tested it, deeply disappointing damage-wise…

Did you level the gem to 99 (or 100?) and did you have any ancients?

Mortick’s Brace…

very dissapointed of this patch. I expected somthing for monks, but almost nothing. dh the same. new gem not good since sacrificing antoher gem from the build will be actually the same as using LON rings damage wise…
nothing regarding tones of unused sets/builds…
the only big buff will be for STAR PACT WIZZARDS, via stone gauntless and not only(they might benefit a lot from new gem), which is a disaster making starpact wizz the only viable meta dps for EVER>

Jeez too many miserable people here that expect too much. We are getting new legendary powers for the first time in forever, good ones too, and still people moan and complain. :confounded:

Well, the PTR is there to test all sides, so if the feedback is given the right place there may come something great out of it yet.
I think trying to get some left over items back into the game is a good idea - and trying to get some of the seasonal buffs implemented as gems or items is also great. But as we witnessed with last PTR - everything is subject to change and omission…

People we got something new but really…we asked for barb buffs so many and received this…cmon, wtf, Blizzard do we don’t talk the same language?

“We” meaning the people that actually asked for the barb buffs is still only a tiny fraction out of all of D3’s players. I think more people will be pleased to have new legendary powers rather than their barbarians being able to clear GRs 2 or 3 levels higher.

So you are saying that we don’t matter? We are asking for equivalent rights for barbs! That’s all! We didn’t say that we don’t want new items in the game & stuff? We just wanted some numbers modified for old items of us! Why are you being unjust with us?

Unjust, seriously? Don’t try to put words in my mouth by claiming i said things that i in fact did not say or even imply. My only point was that people backing the barb proposal are a small proportion of D3’s players, so if there’s something that can be patched in that will benefit all classes/players, they should have priority over the proposal.
You will get your barb buffs don’t worry about that. You just need to be mature and not be inpatient and start bitching about it when you don’t get them as soon as you were hoping for. There are other things that have higher priority but the barb buffs will still happen once those other things are out of the way.

Really? Like the LON gem? Or the stone gauntlets? Yes yes you are right, we cannot live without those items, we are such close minded !

Yeah, sure, we’ve heard that for over two years now.

Blizzard: Be real, we first need to update important items like overwhelming desire, azure wrath, etc. Then we need buffs for other classes. And then buffs for barbarian will come.
US: but this will take a couple of years, the next gen consoles will come, we won’t be able to play Diablo 3 on it, etc.
Blizzard: say what?!
