As the title says, where and how do you obtain Gears of the Dreadlands set? I’m new to this whole set and season 21 and such, so i’m wondering where do you get it. Thank you 1
set pieces drop everywere the only thing is to play at difficulty T1 or higher.
So they can be obtained in rifts, as rewards for completing a grift and when killing mobs anywhere else. You can also use bloodshards to gamble at kadala or (if you want) use the cube to upgrade items those could also be set pieces
edit: i just noticed you are only lvl 42 before set pieces can drop you need to be lvl 60+ but it could be that gears dont drop till 70
You can get inspiration from youtubers like Raxxanterax on how to start a season from scratch and go from level 1 to 70. When you’ve done the first four chapters of the season journey you get the full Shadow set and then you can farm on T6 and higher and do Greater rifts. Then it’ll be easier to get the new set. (Just a note if you follow Raxx’s guide: Stone Gauntlets are not likely to drop for other than strength classes).
seeing you are lvl 44 maybe try to reach 70 first
They can drop like any other item in the game. However, have patience.
Everytime a season starts i like to think that there are 3-4 stages in my game.
First stage is trying to get to lvl 70. You can skip campaign and jump to adventure mode insantly. It can take a while, if you are inexperienced, but there are some tricks here to speed you, like the challenge bag trick. It is also based on luck sometimes. Once you get the hang of it and you can do the whole process in less than 2 hours.
Second, is working your way through the seasonal journey. Every season, for each class there is a set that is rewarded to you after completing some quests. This is one of your first priorities once you reach lvl 70. They rotate, so every new season the reward is different. This here contains some simple quests and activities which can be done solo or with a group quite easily. Having a set early on (whatever that set may be) is going to make all the difference in the world. With it, you can jump to a lot higher difficulties where farming is easier and items drop by the hundreds. Remember, in order to get the full build working, you need more than the set items. The set is 6 items and you wear 13 in total and 3 others in the cube. So, usually, you have to farm 10 more items. Plus the gems. Every complete build nowdays can play effortlessly in torment 16 and clear mid tier GRs. So usually you will spend some time playing this set and trying to reach some goals for this season.
Third stage is deciding if you want to stick to this build that you already invested some time creating or disregard it and play with a better build using a different set. This is very common as in some cases the rewarding sets are weak or not easy to play. But even then you can think of them as a vehicle to farm other more powerfull sets. Chances are that by this time, you already have farmed some paragons, materials and other set and class specific items for your class so after a point it takes no time to jump to a different setup.
And the final stage is trying to min-max your gear for the build you are using. This means farming better versions of your existing items (ancients, primals) with higher rolls and better stats, leveling up gems in order to augment your gear and going into every small detail about how to become stronger. This stage takes the longest and is the deciding factor of how far into the leaderboards you can push. By that time, you probably have farmed several hundreds paragons (or a few thousands depending how much free time you have) and chances are that you already farmed ancients and good items for every other set and build your class has to offer so you can just leave your build for now and try another one to see if it suits you better or if you are bored with playing the same thing over and over.
My advice is do not rush. Just enjoy the game. If you are a new player you might want to do the campaign first. There is nothing wrong with that.
