Just venting a little, did the challenge rift knowing it needs to go into the altar open the altar and right click the cache instead of actually sacrificing it. Please say I’m not the only idiot.

I’ve seen posts from people who accidentally pressed the “delete” button when wanting to claim things to inventory. So it could have been worse.
i just did it and found that its impossible to open a ticket i’m so tilted
Why would you open a ticket for a personal mistake?
because it’d be nice customer support to have someway to rollback my char by like an hour or 2? so i can carry on enjoying the game
I found a way to rollback your character it tells you the day it goes back to but not the exact time so its kinda useless, if i lose like half my progress i’d rather just not play the rest of the season frankly
I’m sure you won’t be alone.
Just don’t do the same thing next week.

Yeah it’s a bit sad. You can farm some components or the other nodes in the altar, in the meantime, though, to be prepared once you do the next challenge rift next week.
Add me to the list… It’s as if we have had so many seasons filled with these and bounties that have made opening caches just muscle memory. There’s never been anything else to do with them.

Ok - I have opened and not sacrificed two chests - HOW DO I DO THIS???
After completing a challenge rift, going back to your seasonal hero, collect the cache into your inventory. Do NOT right-click it inside your inventory (that opens it). If you’re not already at the stage of the Altar where you need the cache, open your Stash and left-click drag the cache from your Inventory to the Stash. When you reach the stage of the Altar that needs it, left-click drag the cache from the Stash to your Inventory and go to the Altar. Select a node in the Altar to unlock and click the Sacrifice button. If this doesn’t auto-consume the cache, it will turn your cursor into a little hammer. Left-click the little hammer on the cache.
Essentially, when interacting with the cache, the right mouse button is your enemy.

Actually, you do not need to. The Altar “sees” the Cache even if it’s in your Stash, the same as Ramaladni’s Gift and Petrified Scream (as opposed to, for example Whisper of Atonement, which you need to carry to the Altar).
