Why does the store force me to buy the Prime Evil upgrade when its cheaper for me to buy the Prime Evil collection. I don’t own any D3 expansions just the base game so its cheaper for me to buy the collection other than the upgrade as I would also need to buy Reaper of Souls and Necromancer expansions seperately. Come on Blizzard play fair
Hi,
I’ve seen similar issues before… where the price for the collection was lower than the price for an upgrade.
There are a few solutions available to you (you don’t say how much the price difference is):
-
Create a new account and buy the Prime Evil Collection for that new account.
Since your current Diablo III account is relatively new, you’re not going to “lose” much gameplay… it’s not like if you had an account with several heroes and thousands of paragons. So you would have 2 accounts, the current one with only Diablo III on it, and a new one with Diablo II: Resurrected and the full Diablo III. I suspect that you wouldn’t use your current account a whole lot however.

Contact Blizzard Support.
One player reported that Blizzard offered him to refund the difference between the upgrade and the collection as Battle.Net balance; see the post here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/blizzard/en/blizzard/t/diablo-prime-evil-collection-upgrade-is-priced-incorrectly/15145/78Perhaps they can give you a similar deal (assuming it is ok with you) or make a deal that would be acceptable both to you and Blizzard. Ask !! There is no section in the Customer Support site for something like this… I suggest that you use the “Purchase Failure” menu item… here: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/1995/ticket
This is a bit risky… the ticket response time is much longer than 24 hours currently… and the sale is not going to last for very much longer. There’s a countdown for the end of the sale on the Battle.Net Desktop App.
Good luck with this… whatever you decide to do !
Edit : I own D3 and Reaper of Souls but not the Necro extension… my “upgrade” price is cheaper than the full collection by $4.75
