Why nerf RORG droprate?

I mean really, why? I play D3 from day one, and that ring has always drop for me during leveling from 1-70, now i’m paragon 390 and not a single one. Already farm about 100 A1 bounties and all i got are some legendary bracers and amulet that never ever droped in A1. Playing on PC, but since last year i bought D3 on PS5 and same damn thing, paragon 255 and not a single RORG… This is the first season that something won’t drop AT ALL. I’m a casual player, and i really don’t care about petrified scream (i did got one, most useless event ever), and i play D3 to relax and have fun. This season is something else for me. And no, this has nothing to do with RNG… There’s something going on… :o)

I mean, really, it hasn’t changed.

Yes, it has everything to do with RNG.

The only thing going on is someone getting annoyed by RNG.

What level are you doing the Bounties at? Higher difficulty levels increases the number of legendaries that are inside the Bounty caches. A quick look at https://d3resource.com/difficulties/index.php shows that at T6 you’re guaranteed 1, at T13 you’re guaranteed 2 and at T16 you’re guaranteed 2 with an 80% chance of a 3rd.

The Game Guide - Bounties shows that there are 6 possible loots in an Act I Bounty Cache. So, if you’re getting an average of 2.8 legendaries per chest, the chance of getting what you want, per cache, is 2.8/6, which is around 47%. This obviously means the chance of not getting one is around 53%.

However, if you’d run 100 sets of T16, Act I Bounties and not gotten a single RoRG, the chances of that being true are…

Chance that an individual cache will have RORG in = 0.53
Chance that none of X caches will have RoRG in = (0.53)^X
Chance that none of 100 caches will have RoRG in = (0.53)^100 = 0.000000000000000000000000000267662148

That’s roughly a 268 in a nonillian. So, I’m pressing X to doubt.

If you don’t have RoRG on Act 1, try to get it with act 4.

The run is simple:

  1. Do Act 1
  2. Look at the cache
  3. If you don’t drop RoRG, do Act 4 (where you have a little chance to drop it)
  4. Look at the cache
  5. If you don’t drop it, leave the party and repeat

Gave Strix a like, though I don’t agree with point 5.

About the RoRG, I’ve nevet had it drop while levelling from 1 to 70 and probably never from the first round of bounties needed for the first four chapters in season journey to get Haedrig’s Gift. But when you can run split bounties at T10, 13 or 16 the chances are much better. You often need to get two though: one for yourself and one for the follower!

The point 5 (and 1 to 5 finally) is when you play solo and you do runs just to find the RoRG

Good point!

That’s bad advice.
Game Guide - Bounties.

  • Act I cache has 5 possible legendaries (one of which is the RoRG).
  • Act II cache has 4 possible legendaries.
  • Act III cache has 7 possible legendaries.
  • Act V cache gives 4 possible legendaries.
  • Act IV cache gives a loot from the combined loot pool of Acts I, II, III and V, i.e. 20 possible legendaries.

If the objective is to obtain a RoRG in as few bounties completed as possible, you’d repeatedly run Act I, leaving / remaking game if you don’t get the RoRG, rather than running Act I and Act IV. The reason for this Act I caches are four times more likely to contain the RoRG than an Act IV cache is.
