I made this post over on the PC side:
4 player couch co-op for PC - General Discussion PC - Diablo IV Forums (blizzard.com)
but after typing it out, I realized my issue could be solved if a 4 player co-op was added to the PS5 or Xbox Series X.
I’m praying that this will be considered further, and hopefully implemented, whether at launch or added in later in the following months. It would mean the world to my family, as silly as that might sound.
I can’t imagine a more honorable thing than for videogames to bring people together to create memories and bond.
Here’s the post I wrote earlier:
"@Blizzard, please hear me out.
Me, my partner, and her daughter, have all started playing Diablo Immortal, and while this situation is only possible currently because it’s Free to Play and low system resource usage (my partner plays on her phone, her daughter on an old tablet, me on my gaming PC), we won’t be able to do this for Diablo 4.
It’s not feasible right now for me to build two more computers and buy the game three times. Finances are tight and things don’t look to be getting better. Too many unexpected expenses adding on top of inflation.
It also feels a lot better to have multiple people sitting beside you, all looking at the same screen. Especially when I use an LG C1 as a computer monitor.
I just considered getting an Xbox Series X for this game, but I’m seeing a limit of 2 characters for co-op.
I’m already dismayed we can’t do it for Diablo 3 on PC, despite me having fond memories as a teenager playing with friends on console when they would come over.
I know if you really wanted to you could build the feature into the game. It’s possible on console, and we see modders in the community do crazy things all the time with games on PC (co-op on Skyrim for example).
I’d also like to have all three of us play on my Twitch stream. My step-daughter is one of the funniest, craziest, most entertaining kids you’ve ever met, and I know at least one of the Devs would get a kick out of watching her play.
She’s already pretty upset that her tablet can’t play the game for more than 30 minutes at a time before it overheats. A lot of tears have been shed over this.
Please consider implementing a 4 player couch co-op on PC. My family would be super happy and grateful, and it would be a great way to get more people interested in the game. My step-daughter has friends over that would get a chance to play, and I could invite a bunch of friends over and do a guys night.
Thanks for reading.
*Alternatively, a 4-player co-op to console would solve this issue as well. "
