I played several years of Diablo 3 (from season 3 to the latest), then I tried the remastered version of Diablo 2 and I don’t like how it was, thinking about how the team made a big upgrade from Diablo 2 to 3 (I also played diablo immortal and I don’t like the formula, but it was born to introduce the series to beginners and to play on the phone so I can’t complain), now talking about Diablo 4 I think it’s a mix between diablo 2 (copying the script of the characters, no big changes or perhaps by removing some skill), Diablo immortal (copying the MMO formula) and Diablo 3 (copying the monster script, only the bosses look new. Other enemies are from Diablo 2, even when you’re in a dungeon the maps look very similar each other, sometimes with the same bosses already faced in other dungeons).
When I first started Diablo 4 I was amazed how the character creation was so well done (although the hair could have been more customized) and the map details were so perfect (just see when you zoom in how great it is) , but while playing it I had a strange feeling like I was playing Diablo 2 remastered again, with very bad UI and design(like Diablo 2:sweat_smile:). When I entered the skill tree I thought it was just for beta testing but then I realized it’s the ultimate skill tree (WTF?! )… In Diablo 3 the customization of your build was something infinite, in Diablo 4 even if you have talent points to learn the skill you want there is a line to follow, so not quite the customization I expect or the freedom of creation I wanted to feel… I wonder if you will add the green set in the future to have some “new skill” like Diablo 3 or even a combination of skills that create a new skill, but from what I’ve seen so far Diablo 4 is no match for Diablo 3 (13 years old and still being played by players)!
At least but not at last, I liked the new contents such as the experience of the warrior’s weapons or the possibility of the necromancer to choose who to summon; the quests that bring the world to life; I find the combat system static should be made more dynamic.
I hope it can become the next WOD.
Went from hyped to meh lol I can also see them doing needing a team for end game content ala WoW. The nerco is such a let down and the skill tree is bloated to make it look like there are more choices but with 6 slots that is an illusion
Really dislike the online only and other than world bosses I don’t see the point? Dungeons are instanced. Nothing screams this needs to be online.
Good thing is MS buying Activison is closer to going through so it will be on Gamepass sooner or later.
I don’t think u guys have gone deeply into diablo 4 information. The first basic skill tree is meant to be easy to understand but the longer into the game u get paragon plus a secondary tree (passive points?)
So in total it’s 3 trees in the game what we know about but we don’t have much info about the other 2.
There is kinda many ways to play.
Example sorc class if u find gear u can change stats so that stat goes as a teleport rank 1 skill, that means u don’t need to waste 1 point on teleport. It can go on something else. (Just a example to compare with D3)
There is some what more ways to play a class then diablo 3 atleast. U can go above the 5/5 points if u want more DMG etc… sure it’s not a PoE skill tree but with the other 2 trees maybe it be more interesting right?
I even think blizzard said themself about the basic skill tree to be freindly. It’s a good entry idea to get more players.
PoE is a smash to the wall directly.
First thing to do on PoE is to go to forum and find build atleast if u want to be a decent player and have progress all the way without facing a wall.
Plus all items etc kinda messy but a interesting game
agree with syndiKateT.
D3. you have the same selections, a primary skill, secondary skill and then 4 more class specific skill lists (6 cores skills) to chose from and each core has 3 to 4 options within it. but those options were mostly slightly different variants of the same skill, different element slightly different effect, but mostly the same skill.
D4 you have, very much the same. a basic skill (resource generator) then 4 ( i think) more skill nodes, and an ultimate skill (6 in total?). plus a specialisation at the bottom we couldnt access in the beta. on top of this each skill from each node is vastly different. not just the same skill with a different elemental or alternate effect. but an entirely different skill. There is also an added effect branch for each skill. which you can chose to invest (up to 2) skill points in, or not. its actually a very clever system giving far more potential skills and build variants than D3
in both games you can chose to opt out of any skill tree you dont want to use. i can put all my points into passives and other skill nodes have two skills from the same node and still unlock the rest of the tree.
the big difference for me was D4 has gear granting skills, and skills having point allocations (1 to 5). so they can hold 5 skill points. and you can overcap them with gear passiives like in D2. so to me by d4 has more skills and more options in how to invest in those skill. (1-5 points + gear points) then paragon on top. I found it a refreshing improvement.
4/6 skills for Necro Minion master what choice we got there They don’t want cookie cuter builds woops, And please that talent tree is boring like WoW’s… they removed it in WoW because flat damage for points = boring and stupid, remove that and you would have D3 like system back in place. They added it back in WoW and boy it was so meaningful getting +3% crit again
If the other tree is a paragon its going to be passives? They aren’t stupid enough to lock gameplay changing skills behind a thing only the hardcore will ever see right? Or those willing to pay for skips hmm
They are changing from D3 for the wrong reasons and the skills look more like PoE than not D3 was pick up and play for new players. Its why it sold so well lol.
Also atleast on console that UI is a mess to navigate , had things pop up for rewards but was in battle couldn’t figure out how to see it again. Again moving away from what worked for reasons, Dice isn’t the dev’s here are they
Interest dropped in PoE when you lost XP on death lol.
Virulina
Its actually 6 skills as necro minion master, because both summoning abilities have unique effects besides summoning golem and skeletons. (both super op abilities especially summon skeletons one, because it can be spammed as long as there’s corpses)
The fact you don’t know that,is self explanatory. You know nothing about D4,you are just parroting your idol youtuber.
Paragon levels are finite,if u dont know what that means,it means there won’t be paragon 20.000 people running around, and it will be available for everyone because max paragon is 50. 50 levels + 50 paragon = 100 levels in total.
There’s no need to mention paid skips, because that’s optional and it wont affect people who did not purchase tier skips because ultimate reward is not character power but cosmetics.
Also the fact you mentioned cash shop, proves once again your issue is not actually talent tree but cash shop.
You haven’t paid attention to D4 at all (which obviously can be seen in your post) and here you are, complaining and crying about the stuff you know nothing about?
Sorry not a sheep lol I played alot of ARPG’s though…
They nerfed minions health btw so how will that work at end game? O right you know it all Also you need a skill to make corpses so that’s 1 automatic skill down vs other classes, unless a Sorc needs to pick up a book every now and then to cast? Sorc will be hands down the best class to play lol. CC, DPS, Defence its got it all and no downsides that I seen. As someone who wanted to play Necro I’ll pass to gamepass
LOL you think they wont do more MTX like skips o man to be naive. Might want to look at CoDs reddit clowns paying for 100 teirs skip for cosmetics… The wording makes it sound like you need to make a new character every season… That sure will get old quick for the most of the casuals but hey we have skips in store
Better than defending a game I guess
So Necro’s to be a MM aren’t going to get pigeon hold into cookie cutter builds, right? Because there are so many difference skill choices to make…
