hi, could someone please clarify the following question:
Are ALL Loot Drops purely individual? that is that you as the player are the only person who sees and can loot the dropped Items ?
I ask this because I was wondering that after completing a Whisper you receive a box of ???( insert choice here )then if you go over to the stash chest located close by and open your box can other players who seem to be loitering around the vicinity of the chest also see and therefore grab the loot items?
and does this apply to ALL areas of the game ? for example if you throw out an item from your INV I’m guessing that is also available to be freely picked up if not account bound therefore would the same rule not apply to opened salvage or other cache boxes ?
From what I’ve seen so far, any chests you see in open world can be opened by any player including any others near you that you see on screen, but just because they open it, doesn’t mean you can’t also. I’ve often seen a player roll up to a chest I see on screen, run around seemingly at random and then run off - can’t see it but I’m pretty sure when i’ve seen that, the player has opened the chest, ran around to collect the loot and then left. All the while - the chest on my screen appears un-opened.
I think its very safe to say: When you open any chest, the loot is yours and yours alone - this includes Legion events, World Boss drops etc.
The only exception I’ve seen to this is when I did a Dungeon with a friend of mine and he threw out some items on the floor that he didn’t want, I picked them up to scrap for materials. But, I suspect this was only possible because we had just cleared the dungeon together whilst in a group and thus I was “loot eligible” as it were when he decided to chuck them out of his bag.
Naturally I could be wrong here and it could be as long as loot isn’t account bound anyone can grab it - but can only speak to what I’ve seen with my own eyes so far.
Hope this helps!
