Audio cutting out constantly, during cutscenes, pathing, in dungeon and world

Windows updated, drivers updated, usb drivers updated. Audio completely cuts out anytime ANYTHING loads. It kills discord audio as well. Happens without discord, in overworld, in dungeon, in cutscene. No issues with any other games or applications previous to this or since. Completely kills any interest in the story and is just a frustrating experience.

None of these issues were present in either Beta test I participated in. I wholeheartedly think this is a monumental step back from D3. Incredibly disappointing.

Get a patch out, this clearly was no where near release ready. This is the Beta.

Been having the same problem since launch, if anything it seems to have gotten worse as well. Seems to be related to teleporting or opening the map. Though it happens at other times too.

I got similar audio sound problem, only music works fine other sounds bug out to be muted or cracking sounds.

IF I has only ingame music on THEN it is working fine.
IF ambient or dialogue or effects volume is not 0 THEN the it goes to total mute or cracking sounds and even the ingame music goes away…

Unplayable with sound…

To look into potential audio issues, it would be good to know if Windows is applying any Enhancements, or if you have Spatial Audio enabled. To check all that:

  • Press the Windows Key + R to bring up the Run menu
  • Type in mmsys.cpl and press Enter to bring up the Sound control panel
  • Double-click on your audio output device
  • Check the Enhancements and Spatial Sound tabs to see if any options are enabled, and if so, disable them
  • In the Advanced tab, ensure ‘Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device’ is disabled

If you still have issues, however, let us know. Be sure to include what Default Format you’re using in that Advanced tab, too, and if changing it to a lower option works.

I followed the instructions:
Enhancement options are disabled.
Spatial audio is disabled.
Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device is disabled.
Default format: on the lowest
2 channel, 16 bit, 8000 Hz (Telephone Quality)
also tested with all other formats.

The error is still exist.
The game starts with sound then suddenly the sound is gone and starts cracking.
Sometimes on the login screen, sometimes ingame.

On the ingame sound settings tab:
Sound output device: Default
Speaker setup: Default
If I change any of these 2, the sound comes back about 2-3 seconds then it goes total silent again and/or only cracking sound.

There are no errors in the logs.
Is there a way to raise the log level for audio sub system/module?
Please let us know if we can check or set any other settings.
