There is probably another post like this one, it does not matter.
The battlepass for D4 should be similar to Halo: You buy it, and you own it. Each time you play you should be able to select which battlepass to complete - the new one or an old one.
Agreed, you pay for a product, you should recieve that product, in this case, a bundle of cosmetics, no matter how long it takes you to unlock it ingame.
