Sorted list of feedbacks

Hi,
all my beta feedbacks, from a Jah-Ith-Ber pvp D2 pov. (3 class at 25, with “most” of the beta covered)
Globally GG, i enjoyed every second of the beta, except the tragic launch queue. You stole me whole weekend :stuck_out_tongue:

Here we go :

Launch queue :

  • you never learn :smiley: – we are in 2023 with cloud & scalabilty being very advanced and performant topic. Stop brutal fail all time like you are a 5 man web startup.

World :

  • beautifull
  • Ambiance is dark, nice
  • Flow / regions… seems a lot like Guild War 2, not a bad thing, but it remind me GW2. I have to say this.

UI :

  • UI is “ok” but a bit disappointed, it seems too empty and generic, skill page look very unexpressive
  • Icons, many things are a bit too small imho
  • Some indications are missing, like “I tp to town to repair, that make me fail world boss”, i was suspecting it, but … a warning text would have been appreciated.
  • It would be nice to have an indication “what type of damage killed me, so i know next time i must put more X resist” (even if i know i will obsivouly target max res everywhere)
  • “Advance mode” of skills diplay must me “by default” … it’s the heart of the game to theory craft and try to maximise your char…

Characters :

  • Skills are a bit to similar to D3, i thought i was playing D3 sorc, litteraly.
  • In term of power Sorc >>> Rogue >>> Barb ,“as usual in argp games you will tell me”
  • Sorc : easy mode … hydra blizz firewall frozen orb on hit, teleport, armor… all at once !
  • Rogue : many “management” in comparison, “hit 3x”, the third hit = bonus, empower each 5 seconds… 100 APM vs SORC “1 click clean screen”
  • Barb : a bit weak compare to the two others… i ended playing a “frog mage jump barb”(with unique item) as main dps.

Skills :

  • Good think we can “+skill” (over 5), a core D2 mecanic.
  • But i didnt feel any big notable between a lvl 1 or a lvl+ skill… put most point just to unlock, and take the “upgrade passive road”

Items :

  • Thought legendary where “rare”, i ended with plenty of them, like in D3 ! Carefull !!! Warning. Dont let the game be an item fest. Take D2 as model please.
  • Else we have the same “shard system”… fullfill full shard, then go marchant and bet 15 items and “ow”, 3 legendary like in D3. → Not good.
  • I have no idea of RARE items affixes impact yet… 1st impression : “not enough impact”, i wasn’t in a “Magic find flow” like in d2 at all.

Multi :

  • Multiplayer is confuse, i rarely even notice when i was in a “group”, and with who, on screen. if someoned “needed me” of so.

Quest system :

  • Very generic, 100% like D3 bounty, but live in game

Dungeons

  • A bit too repetitive guideline, 1) kill a few rooms 2) go here find 2 items and put them on piedestal 3) kill boss. You should work a bit more variety.
  • still looks like a “one shot quest”. All of them will be done in 1 or 2 weeks for good players, and what next ? At the end, not sure there will a lot more content than in D3.
    At this point unfortunatly i don’t feel the need to replay a dungeon. (except to force a lvling)/// even if i “Enchant it” to have +15% diff , +15% reward … very far from wonderfull POE atlas system.
    But wait and see, i didnt see endgame yet. Surprise me, i am open :slight_smile:

Aspect system :

  • Some sort of extended D3 horadric cube system finally.

Point of attention :

  • ITEMS: legendary are “raining” … and from what i’ve seen yet, some effects may be “strong” (aka “mandatory”)
  • MATHS : never go in the D3 trap “+1500% DPS on skill A” it will kill the game and personalisation. I know you said it won’t happens, but you also said legendary would be more rare, and after 20 hours of the beta you can pop 3 legendary bows from “a random shards depletion”.

Conclusion :

  • It is a bit too much like D3, not enough D2. Keep going in D2 direction please.

Some sort of magic find would be nice as main item acquisition, instead of “speed running + fast depletion”
i like far more the D2 affixe system “find a 4 sock armore of the whale”… find white items of 15% quality to prepare a (runeword/craft) … vs random “D3 + 13 dps in green”

Yes, unfortunately skill leveling and skill upgrades (only 3 nodes) just do not provide any customization or impact.

Same first impression for me, some affixes felt really cool like +1 level to mastery skills, but others like +x% damage agains elite are just boring and do not have that much impact

I’m happy with the fact that putting skill points isn’t mandatory. In most Arpg, if you don’t max a skill it’s often useless. It give the illusion of choice. But I think if you go beyond 5, it need a big impact for each extra skill points.

I would have loved to see more passives choices to customize each skill instead, so it’s not just about more dps but gameplay reason, with each passive you take increase the skill level.

I love the customization, I think the error it’s to name the aspect and the item ‘legendary’ (could have named it Epic). Since D3 it mean nothing. Uniques are the new legendaries I think.
The aspects are the new D3 rune system. They could have came back to the old D3 system were runes were runes you put in gear slots.

The problem I think is that putting an aspect on a rare > you get a legendary item. It should stay a rare and legendaries should have a different version of the aspect, not just a better stat, but a power similar but more powerful/interesting, making looting the item more rewarding than just slapping an aspect.

Queue was actually better than on any other game/beta launches i have experienced so far. 1-2 hours of queue is absolutely fine. Saturday and today no queue at all.

I can’t agree more. The “skill tree” should grow with 5 or 6* more leaves per skills for more customisation ! Instead of finding most modifier on unique items that finally make them kinda “must have if you play this skill” and leave little option if you search performance.

…about queue, it was just random taunt, dont worry i can live with 2 hours down :). But just remember D3 launch became a meme… try your best not to repeat this.

Nice game so far. tested the sorc and rogue and realy liked what u did to the chain lightning.
Dont know what u will do with the paragon system, if it will be like D3, but if not pls make it for the sorc that its mana pool get bigger after each lv up.
The hp should regen like in D3.
Aspects u get out of items should be stored in the codex, like with the HC in D3 or at least u should be able to extract them again after putting them in an item.

Realy like the Char custom system. makes u feel like u play ur own game and not just walking around with a clone.

Hi, I`m sorry that I am writing here dear devs,but I didnt find the option in D4 to write a ticket. Im not sure if this is intended or not but in the Neyrelle Questline “Schleier der Horadrim”(sorry dont know the english questtext) there is a fight with many spectral enemies. I checked it twice and if u move too far downwards, the fight will reset. As I said, I dont know if this is intended, just want to mention it. At last I want to say a big thank you to the devs and all that are involved in creating this game. I currently play on 8gb RAM and with an 1050Ti(so insanely bad hardware in 2023) and my game runs smoothly at 60fps with a tiny amount of problems here and there. So thank you guys and have a great one.
