They don’t need to as gold is tradeable and has a use in D4. Like in real life make a mistake, fine. Make the same mistake and you might actually have to pay for it.
Such a bloody noob game!

Why? Is not true this: “existence of AH will force devs to lower drop rates”. I explained many times that the AH can be totally disconnected from drop rates, ecc… It’s simply a market for any player who want to trade. Completely independent from the rest.
The problem is not solved because not all players are equal and not all players can spend the same amount of time playing the game. Saying no to the auction house means saying that some players are more equal than others, just like in animal farm. A player who does not have infinite time to grind will never be able to have or compete with those who can devote all the necessary time to the game. The problem is not solved at all because it creates discrimination that would not exist if the auction house was activated. And frankly, even if I were a Blizzard shareholder, I wouldn’t be happy to say no to a business just to please the massgrinders.
With the auction house (scenario #1):
The rich “pro” player can grind, buy, sell.
The poor “pro” player can grind and sell.
The rich “casual” player can buy or grind.
The poor “casual” player can only grind.
Without the auction house (scenario #2):
The rich “pro” player can only grind.
The poor “pro” player can only grind.
The rich “casual” player can only grind.
The poor “casual” player can only grind.
Someone objectively explain to me how scenario #2 could ever be better for Blizzard and for all players.
Thank you
Its not just bots, its gonna turn into pay to win. People will manage to gear up fully without ever leaving the town. That’s not good. Same happened in D3 RMAH.
This game will last for years so I dont think people will miss time to level up or grind… like also It 's not a race on who level up first …hey it’s not WoW, it’s Diablo! …and about discrimination thingy… discrimination is only up to who want to accept it, I dont give AF at all of what others think/say about me so problem solved…
Since Im pretty sure that with an AH or “powerTrade” people will start open eBay accounts and sell things on it for real $$$ (thats because on Diablo anyone will have tri-bilions of coins in short time so people obviously will start sell/trade things only for real money…) and I find it very unfair to players with no much real money at their disposal… that’s why I prefer a fair game where all have 1 thing to do: GRIND.
No time?..well… I dont go play tennis if I have no time to play tennis… but luckly for us Diablo is made for the long run and years of longevity & playability.
So I think let AHs to MMOs not Diablo. Personally I prefer see people grind than OpenMyWallet skillz.
Ok, so for you it is right that those who play all day every day will always have an advantage that cannot be filled in any way compared to players who have paid the same price for the game but do not have the same time available. And in the long run they will always be ahead of others players unless they stop playing. Scenario #1 that I have described is therefore confirmed as the only one that balances the differences as far as possible. Or, at least, to give the possibility to all players.
mm… ok but you keep telling me something but with an mmo POV where it’s the differences between you and me that are the main thing… It’s not a race between players on who is ahead or whatelse and an AH balance out pretty nothing because it’s not an open PVP game… All will have a chance to loot pretty much everything out this game on the long run, obviously not with the affixes you want but hey… that’s why we play
So I thought that there are still people who support this idea. But well we are unlikely to see this at the start of the d4 launch. It seems to me that sooner or later the game will start to be monetized and they will gradually introduce real money transactions into the game, until finally maybe we will welcome a trading house in d4. But this I suspect as the game will die and there will be no interest.
Until then, you have to enjoy the usual gameplay.
Although the chances of being able to sell gold for REAL CASH are high, so GOLD FARM BARB will be perfect for the season :D.
I was wondering if the threads we’ve made here are read by moderators and any developers and how could we possibly get an official answer to the points mentioned? Also negative, of course. But I’d be very happy if someone from Blizzard would argue about it. Is there, as of today, any possibility that the introduction of the Auction House will be reconsidered in the future of D4?
Real money transaction rules in games were changed by law i believe so it was removed from D3. When devs saw people spending too much time in the auction house instead of farming gear they removed it completely i believe. Since gold transactions will more than likely exist in D4 i doubt they will add it without thinking long and hard about it first.
You can’t have an auction house or much trade at all if you want to keep the seasonal competition fair.
Are you really asking for millions of bots ???
Just the fact gold is tradeable means there will be bots, an auction house won’t add to it.
Really? Again? Bots are not action house dependant.
“If bots are the problem you solve the bot’s problem. What does it has to do with it the AH?
It would be like saying that since a kitchen knife can also be a weapon, we no longer sell kitchen knives. Bah.” (cit. 15d ago)
So, guys, no more bots in D4?
An Action House sounds great … what sort of action can we expect?
What kind of nonsense, about bots and RMT, it has always been in online games, no one forces you to participate in this, why can’t I humanly sell the things that I knocked out and buy myself things for my honestly farmed gold, I demand a normal auction for the game currency (gold), this is a mockery through your discord to trade.
The auction house, as widely explained in this discussion, would solve problems and not create any since the one related to bots would still be present. In fact, as I said months ago in front of those who raised this objection against activation of the auction house. Today we can certify that the bot problem is present and black market channels for trading have been born. The auction house would have been useful for regularizing what happens anyway and, above all, it would have allowed players who are not professionals and don’t have infinite time to devote to the game, to keep up and be competitive with those who bring their characters to level 100 grinding endlessly. Eventually the obvious will happen: normal players will quit and D4 will remain a game for robots competing with each other. Congratulations!
I will be setting up as many threads as necessary. Every month, every week. I’ll keep pushing this idea until I die. Bring back the AUCTION HOUSE for goodness sake.
The game is pointless. It’s boring. It’s no fun to find items. If we play hc with one character, we will be playing one class until the end of the season because no other items fall out for other classes.
As I check the display of topics on the forum, it is the ACTION HOUSE theme that is among the hot issues and the most displayed thread.
Why should we suffer the agony of missing the target? We have spent money on this game. Give us the money now. A percentage of the sale of each item will be for you too, after all. You already have a bad reputation anyway. What’s the harm to you, blizzard?
Nothing can save this game now. Interest in the game has dropped to zero. The game is BORING. But so REALLY BORING. I can’t even get through the campaign, where in DIABLO 3 every time I fell a character on HARDCORE I flew through myself through the storyline with no problem.
Add an Auction House. Remove the ban on trading and bring back the ability to find items other than just class items. I guarantee you that interest in the game will increase 10000x
At least if the goal was to collect items, then maybe there would be a desire to play.
Ask yourself - why after 20 years people are still playing Diablo 2.
As
Auction house is a good thing but only when game provides content for it…
Diablo 4 does not…
Things you need.
1.1 Gathering: To craft stuff you should be able to set specific goals that allow you to gather right materials and recepies. Farm this boss, kill those mobs in the open world etc… those things create an economy of their own. Important is that some materials should be very dang hard to gather even so hard that you need a specific build and character to do it effectively.
Challenging dungeons… not dungeons that waste your time with freeing the prisoners but make your heart rush andrenaline pop a champagne for you as you test your and your chacracter limits for better loot. (best outcome possible should not be tradeable but plenty of good stuff should be)
Currency that is only obtainable by doing spcific open wolrd quests or events. this currency is only currency that can be used in auction house. Not gold. Plenty of reasons for that.
They need to add tons of tradeable unique items (not by rarity but just rare finds that can be target farmed). keep those items in the game but change the loot every season.
Such items should be called LEGENDARY not items with… exchangable affix that should be in its own slot not on and item anyways.
This would be enough to add hundreds hours of gameplay… just adding auction house in a game that wont allow people to set any goals… everyone wyit allready because they got whatever the 750-825 item power items before reaching lvl 100 and are bored… what would a auction house add in such game… make this process even faster and add some bots.
