Bring back action house

Now that I think about it, I’m starting to dread the idea. I forgot that you have to be careful what you wish for

Did you actually read what I wrote?

Show me a single online game that has managed to solve a bot problem when there actually was a market to sell resources.

The AH should be real money only imho, because the only way to reward the efforts and time of other players is real value, not “fake” gold.

As said in my first post this would protect all parties, Blizzard for business (fees on transactions), Seller for real gain (that rewards hours of play), Buyer for improving his gaming experience (which allows him to remain competitive).

I think it’s you who hasn’t read. The bot problem is independent of AH, in fact bots exist in infinite games where the auction never existed. So it makes no sense to pose the bot problem in relation to whether or not AH exists.

Mmmmhhh, so your problem is not the AH but the fact that somone can compete with you. So we will have players who are more players than others (like animal farm) just because they can play non-stop. And is this balanced for everyone gaming experience? The Auction House allows everyone, on an optional basis, to stay current and competitive with the pg.

but it fits (unfortunately) to the new mmo style. Based on wow, more wow players will enjoy Diablo 4 and enjoy the WOW gameplay aspects here too. This is (unfortunately) the trend in Diablo 4 and you should get used to it if you want to have fun with the game. (I exclude myself because I don’t like it)

How is it a trend if we can still influence the outcome?
like if the majority of the Community doesn’t want trading?

Dude are you working for Blizz? Cause they promised cosmetics only for real money and you come up with real money AH. Next will be NFT loot?

Please don’t forget that guy in Immortal who paid his way up until he had no more other players to PvP with. The whales will have the advantage (again) and the player base will shrink cause not everyone is born rich or has the income for such things. Real money will bring real problems into the game. So it should be in game gold (aside from no need for AH).

Guys, I haven’t yet read a single solid argument that AH is objectively a damage to the game. The last consideration essentially says that whoever is richer will be able to buy and whoever is less rich cannot. But this also applies to those who work and will not be able to play endless hours compared to those who can spend the day playing. The difference is that, in the first case, whoever pays will also earn those who don’t have money to spend on AH but have had a lot of time to play. In the second case, those who don’t have time are screwed over those who have a lot of it (whether rich or poor). I would like to read, if possible, much more solid arguments than these.

Your word in God’s ear, the trend in the direction of mmo has taken off, I hope you’re right and Com is turning things around again.

for what you need a AH in D4? You cannot trade the best items…so is kind of useless in D4…

For what do you want to know how other players would use the AH? If you think that AH is useless for you simply don’t trade any item. And let others decide whether an object can be interesting or not.

Also no thanks… the auction house was the original sin of D3

Your statements are incorrect. There are a lot of valid arguments. You simply chose the ignore them because “I want to an auction house”.

As was said before and several times the auction house was a main issue in vanilla D3 and item trading in general should not exist in Diablo or only in a limited capacity (like in D3 where you can trade items with the people you ran a dungeon with and only the items that dropped while they were in your group).

Yeah, I get that. And I’m 53. But seriously, I had great fun with Diablo 3’s auctionhouse for a while. It may go against whatever people talk about here, but it had it’s moments for some of us. I remember a friend and me competing who got a certain items first and who made the biggest profit on certain rings and so on. It was entertaining for a while. We started out with nothing and soon we were wielding The Grandfather ! If you are old(er) and you just can’t invest so much time grinding and running dungeons and rifts for better stuff or harvesting runes for upgraded runewords, then just an hour auctionhouse management here and there made for a nice passtime when an entire evening running with a group throught Act 5 just wasn’t on the cards.

Good one ! Couldn’t agree more.

Since start Blizzard has made clear the game won’t include any ways for players to purchase “player power” except for cosmetics so problem solved I think…

I don’t get it. What will be your reason to play if you can just buy the best gear?

Here’s a solid one: existence of AH will force devs to lower drop rates, which means it won’t be a loot game anymore, but an AH game instead.

Imagine spending hours on AH trying to catch something good instead of going out and actually playing the game.

So, no more loot game. And no more playing the actual game. How much more solid do you want it?

I will try to answer that by making a comparison:

Two people read the same book. Person 1 never reads it again because he or she already read it once, but person 2 will read the same book over and over again because he or she simply likes to do that.

Maybe too abstract ?

Person 1 does not get person 2 and vice versa.

“What will be your reason to play if you can just buy the best gear?”

What will be your reason to play if you canNOT buy the best gear?

You still need to play to be able to get in game gold if we are talking about the Diablo 3 Auction House concept. So the question is strange.

What will be your reason to play if you canNOT grind for hours and hours?

What will be your reason to play if you canNOT play sorceress or necromancer with a bow (like in Diablo 2) ? Do you feel limited in your personal creative choices perhaps ? Is that then a damper ? Maybe it is.

And so on.
