[BUG] - Greatstaff of the crone stormstrike damage

I’ve noticed a possible bug (perhaps intended - if so the wording needs to be made more explicit about the scaling, imo) with greatstaff of the crone and stormstrike/claw.

Essentially my stormstrike tooltip damage is ~50% of my claw tooltip damage. My greatstaff is 132%, so we should expect a 0.5 x 1.3 = ~0.65 stormstrike damage to claw damage ratio. From testing I’m actually getting between 10-20% of my claw damage.

I’ve tried to remove confounding variables here, such as multiplies/affixes that would apply to claw and not SS, but all I see is a +65% additive physical damage, which should not account for anywhere near that discrepancy.

My intuition is that the stormstrike that is casted from claw through the greatstaff crone ‘aspect’ is not getting scaled by things that scale skills - and only the ‘base’ damage is applying, much like how paingorgers work to my knowledge.

And the saddest thing here is that having such things as you. Your damage is simply ridiculous compared to a barbarian on the same basic attacks. Sometimes you get the feeling that the developers are somehow offended by the druid, otherwise it’s impossible to explain.
I also wanted to try this this season. But looking at what you did, I saved a lot of time and money.

I had removed certain things for testing purposes here. I’ve got claw to around 10-15 million per crit now with upgrades and I think pit 100+ is possible.

But yeah - barbs have the tempers that are multiplicative (+ 4 extra aspect slots). We’d be comparable (if not higher!) with those things.

I am convinced the tempers for bash were supposed to be additive (as they claimed and then reverted) but they didn’t want to (somewhat rightfully) punish players who had invested into bash by nerfing them to what they intended.

PS the bug is adaptability. It does not work with the free ‘triggered’ storm strike.

That’s exactly what happened, and they looked to save face last minute due to the outrage by saying it was a “mistake” when the actual mistake was making it multiplicative.

I’m also not convinced the damage system works correctly in many parts of the game.
This is like an accounting system not working correctly in accounting software! It’s the crux of the game system design, the math here should be spot on.

Disappointing. It didn’t need to be this convoluted. They should keep the damage system as simple as possible.
