Cheat Death Exilir in Hardcore

I notice the recipe for the elixir that saves you from death (with a cooldown). It also kept dropping for me constantly after I learned it. I never even looked up what I needed to craft it, as it seems like a lame escape death mechanic to me.

As someone who enjoys the Hardcore experience, can someone please tell me those elixirs were in the game for alpha testing or something?

The whole point of perma death on a character gets made cheap when you can craft a potion that protects you from death. I understand the sorcerer also has a cheat death mechanic, which I am also not a fan of either.

The whole fun for playing HC for me is it’s you vs the world. If you die, the journey ends and you were not good enough on this attempt or luck was against you. It’s time to start over.

So Blizzard, please remove the elixir from the game if this wasnt just some beta/alpha test device. Give us hardcore fans a real hardcore experience.

Maybe it was a mistake and was intended for softcore players?

uh i guess ppl gona buy that potion from the shop in 6 month from now  it will kill HC

The opposite.

Most hardcore players play more softcore than normal mode players.

These elixirs allow you to do things like face Ashava.

That’s all.

Well in D3 each char has passive to cheat death, also another are on equip…it would be foolish to think they return to D2 style after over 10years of D3 reign. Sorry.

What did D2R do with hardcore?

Honestly Hardcore is supposed to be if your hp reaches 0, your char is dead and gone. D4 hardcore might simply not be hardcore enough for me. Id rather play Hardcore in Last Epoch or Grim Dawn then.

I will probably try some hardcore, but not use the elixirs, but seeing any high level characters in town I just wont feel as much respect as I would have done if there were no cheat death mechanics.
