Barb is by far the weakest class. Mage and rogue seem about the same. Necro is just so OP its stupid. zero challenge = zero fun. Played all on world tier 2.
Played 4 hours of werebear druid and it was brutal. The class I was looking forward to, too.
Switched to a lightning sorc and it just decimates things in seconds (both on world tier 2).
Just keep getting disconnects to try any other classes atm.
I’m hoping it gets better at end game but melee in general is really rough.
I don’t see how, all the game systems are anti-melee in this game. But it’s not only melee, both barb and druid have an inferior mana system. Sorc, rogue and necro just have the same system with passive regen. We don’t have access to their specialization either. Rogue without the spec if inferior, but why not include it in the beta ???
What you see is the leveling phase, nothing more.
They even want the classes to feel differently strong in different level phases.
It will even out more on max lvl.
Druid is below barb. Each new tier of skills it feel underwelming. You unlock companions… and Necro has far better companions at level 1. You always struggle for resources… I enjoyed far more the barb.
The big problem is that it’s not even fun to play barb or druid at this point, majority of player will just not play them, and if sorc or necro isn’t their fantasy, thery will dtop playing the game. You can’t just mess up like that early game. If you can’t sell the class concept early on, it’s bad game design. You feel underpowerred at each tier compared to the casters classes.
And when you look at the game design, you feel that everything has been tailored / balanced toward casters not melee builds.
Rogue need pets, like DH has on D3, otherwise can not play ranged with it.
imagine rating the viability of classes by the first 60 minutes / 25 levels of a game
facepalm
yes, of course yes. played a rogue till level 21 in early beta and now did a necro << I have the impression I switched the game to Very Easy mode.
with rogue had bad time with some bosses snd some packs, with necro no problems.
He does not. Thats why you have CC and movement abilities with the rogue.
Thats also why rogue is not a pure ranged class, its a mixed playstyle between melee and ranged. Its possible to play pure ranged, but it doesnt feel intended.
I enjoyed him the most when playing a mixed skill setup.
Well, this is nothing new i would say, coming from D2 i can say classes have familiar feelings, Necromancer is always easy mode tier-S, blizzard/globe sorc is always tier-A until resistances will kick in from nightmare, then all the rest, rogue is a bit too much mix from amazzon and assassin but without the ez mode of the trapsin (traps have cooldown so can’t fill the map with them like in D2), melee mode is always hard so melee rogue, barb and druid suffer more compared to necro/sorc and they need to build their resistance/dodge over time compared to immediately bulkiness of D2 melee so they suffer specially vs bosses, in this case i would say it is worse as melee the experience in D4 than what was in D2 with barb and druid getting the short end of the stick, specially druid i would say is worse than D2 druid instead to being better, no spirit aura, no tank bear and access to summons after lvl 11 compared to the necro which start with summons AND a base skill, elemental druids will get the issues of the sorcerer with elements and melee druids need to be transformed and like barbs build their resistances, also unlike in D2 the animal forms dont have enough buffs being related to skill usage on the moment, so for example no extra life in bear form.
To be honest, I thought of druid as weak at the beginning to. started yesterday, got rage quit, but gave him another chance and lvl him up to 25th. and changed my mind on him.
Nice on AoE, somewhat weaker on single target. But gains a lot starting lvl 18+.
I really miss option to use more skills, like D2 with F1-F12. Too much skills available, to little space to have use of them.
Also dung bosses feels a lil bit unballanced compared to rest of mobs. Trash dies out easy, but bosses takes lot of punishment. That also includes story related ones.
Generaly melee classes have more uphill than range ones.
Never played Druid as it seems. Barb delets the butcher on lvl 25 with decent gear and legys in 3-5 seconds, just as fast as a sorc. So what?
Play necro without legys and we talk again
. It’s horrible and there are so little builds that realy work well for all content.
Sorc is fine but needs some minor number tweaks unless you are a funny person and try to make lightning sorc work.
Rogue is beyond stupid. Far to much utility and dmg in class and one of both needs be toned down drasticly.
Barb is played wrong by a lot of people i think. You can pretty much faceroll everything without requiring potions much and barely dodging/moving around if you just use the right stuff in the skilltree. Sure, you can still argue about dps being better at sorc, hunter etc… that´s basically in every game of that type or MMORPG but Barbarian is WAY stronger than most people claim in this forum yet.
The first thing people don´t do but you SHOULD do is activating the 2 lv1 defensive shouts, the lv1 aoe stun and among the basic skills ONLY the leap skill with it´s leech and bleed upgrade. Alone with that you can faceroll anything like a spartan from 300. The fury skills and everything else can be build how you like and that just pushes the dps even more.
And yes, you can do this very early, before level 10 already.
Yeah, druid become better later. Pulverize with overpower or lanside with guaranted critico the job. but a full werebeast is too underwelming ![]()
It’s the same for every classes. Outside of legendaries, only a few skills really worth it.
Yeah, it’s like the only viable option because of the leap. Using a pure melee skill feel so bad in this because because how mobile and how many ground effect mobs throw at you.
Thing is with what i explained you can completely ignore ground stuff, it´s like night and day going spartan build(xd).
Yeah, legendaries like barrier on elite dmg, invul buble, healing effects etc… are prety much mandatory if you don’t want to feel your whole skill bar with defense skills.
That’s where the sorc is shining because her skillbuilds work without legys and only get better with legys. Necro without the right Legys is very lackluster but playable.
Haha are you kidding? Necro doesn’t need any legendaries to absolutely wreck the current content available without even spending resources (save for bosses). Practically every single skill combination is a viable build. Sorc has tons of useless skills, but Chain Lightning, Frozen Orb and Hydra are great which negates that.
non the less necro is lackluster
. I haven’t seen anything new for any class but the rogue what makes all classes lackluster tbh. Necro is just boring… kill stuff… explode stuff… rince and repeate. With legys things get a bit more intresting but I can’t see any evolution in the class what is the worst part of all and therefor lackluster yet still playable… or should i say bareable.
