So if you have a 20% damage reduction modifier it reduces the damage you take from DoT effects by 20% i presume.
But if you have 10% damage reduction vs close or vs distant or vs bleeding its not so clear.
Example a monter drops a pool of poison in front of you, does the damage you take from standing in that poison pool gets mitigated by any of this conditional damage reductions?
I agree its not clear… it looks to be that close range would be physical attacks from a range perspective and as for ranged itself, i would assume ranged physical… as for Dot’s like poison… i’d say that it is more relative to distance factor but based upon your resistances vs the attribute itself, and as for elemental resistances that’s a whole different game all together.
It could very well be that resistances as in physical/skill/magical even damage calculations could be scaled based on how close the proximity is, would need some testing as its never really been explained as of yet.
This is really importat to know, in my experience pre season has a barbarian the physical damage is never what kills you. If Conditional damage reduction dont mitigate this elemental DoTs then its value is very limited and not worth prioritizing in your paragon board and glyphs.
