Conduit Shrines

Please change how conduit shrines work. They are such a downgrade to our damage. Make them passively send out chain lightning to nearby enemies, instead of turning us into a lightning ball, like how it worked in D3.

Totally agree. It’s a downgrade in every way; no damage, annoying gameplay, losing my character’s abilities.

I really liked Diablo 3’s Conduit Shrine effect; passive damage around you and movement speed. It is a positive effect in both gameplay and power, the damage is not great but it feels good.

Suggestions:

  1. Change Conduit Shrines to the Diablo 3 version, maybe adding Vulnerable aswell.
  2. Keep the “conduit ability” the same but make it replace your Evade instead of the entire kit.
  3. Make “conduit ability” a ground targeted ability like Leap, so it can be used for movement and make it easier to hit enemies. I dislike target based abilities in general (like Rabies) and wish more of them were “skill-shots” that could be cast freely without a target, or at least more options for it. It can be hard to target small fast monsters with Rabies and other “point-and-click” abilities. Another isometric game; League of Legends has changed numerous abilities into “skill-shots” and that has been a great transition. In Diablo 4, monster don’t really “juke” you, so there isn’t much of a downside to make abilities more freely castable. Worst case, missing an ability could refund half or all it’s cooldown (Rabies)
  4. Remove it from the Shrine pool.

Suggestions for Improvement

:one: Revert Conduit Shrines to the Diablo 3 version – Keep the passive damage aura and movement speed boost, maybe even add Vulnerable to make it more impactful.

:two: Keep the “conduit ability” but replace Evade instead of the entire kit – This way, it enhances gameplay instead of disrupting it.

:three: Make the “conduit ability” a ground-targeted skill (like Leap) – This would improve both mobility and usability.

  • I dislike target-based abilities (like Rabies) and prefer skill-shots that can be freely cast.
  • Small, fast monsters are hard to hit with point-and-click abilities.
  • Other isometric games (like League of Legends) have transitioned abilities into skill-shots, and it’s been a great improvement.
  • In Diablo 4, monsters don’t “juke”, so freely castable abilities wouldn’t have major downsides. Worst case, missing an ability could refund some or all of its cooldown (like Rabies).

:four: Remove Conduit Shrines from the Shrine pool entirely – If it’s not fun or useful, it shouldn’t be there.

No way!
Let it be like that, or make it even worst, in a way to nerf the char way low.

Even better, Bli$$, bring back the cursed shrines, cursed chests & cursed life pools!
Make the game harder, not easier…

Conduits and cursed shrines don’t make the game harder, they just make it more tedious.

it´s stupid. tedious. lightning in general is ass on d4engine.
