Diablo IV was unable to retrieve necessary data. Please check your network connection.
What I’ve tried/considerations:
I use Windows Defender (not Kapersky, which was linked to a few issues about blocking connection in towns) - i was using BitDefender, uninstalled it and still have this issue,
My game is installed on an internal MVME SSD,
I have Scanned and Repaired it (on Battle.net) 3 or four times - no corrupted files,
It happens on my normal connection and when using my VPN,
It only started happening in the last week or so. I have played every season so far an not had this issue until now.
Help would be much appreciated (As i am actually enjoying this season).
I’m getting this same error on my Steam Deck. The game ran fine this morning, but not even 5 hours later, it crashes on me with this message. I’ve tried verifying the files on Steam, and it’s telling me they’re fine. My WiFi connection is fine. I’m literally 2 feet from my box and it had no problem downloading the update immediately before I tried launching the game just now.
I played this morning fine. Then came back and was getting the error constantly. I checked under updates and had the following pending:
2023-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5032007)
2023-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5032190)
After installing I tried again and it downloaded data for about 10 min and then launched.
