Controller issue?

Is anyone else having trouble using a controller on PC?

I am also having controller issues. It keeps switching between mouse and controller, only registering controller while buttons or analog sticks are being moved.

Same, I am playing with an Xbox controller. I have tried it both plugged in and via the official wireless dongle. Same results, the game annoyingly switches back to mouse/keyboard unless actively depressing a controller input.

I fixed the issues for myself.

Plugged in a Bluetooth mouse, turned it on, moved the mouse around to make sure the game registered it. I then shut the mouse off and pressed a controller button.

Seems like the only way i could play with a controller was to plug my PS5 controller directly to my computer. I have a short cable so that doesn’t play very well…

Fixed, uninstall GeForce Experience, works now.

Yup. Some problem with GeForce Experience.

Glad to hear that you’ve identified the cause in your cases. If anyone else has a similar issue that isn’t resolved by disabling GeForce Experience, let us know!

Isn’t working for me with a PS4 controller. I’ve restarted my PC twice and the game like 5 times. Still doesn’t work after turning GeForce off.

Same. PS5 controller, running don’t even have GeForce Experience. Works with a USB cable but not wirelessly, firmware is also up to date.

Issue didn’t resolve after deleting Geforce Experience for me.

For me, none of my wireless controllers are detected. I have a dualsense and a Steam Controller. I don’t have Geforce Experience installed as I have an AMD graphics card. If I set up my controller through Steam to enable desktop mode I can use it with desktop settings in D4 but that just simulates keyboard/mouse. Under the ‘controller’ section of the options it is as though they’re not detected at all. Both are connected by bluetooth. If I connect the dualsense by USB then it works fine but my computer is too far from my TV to play like that.

I have diffrent issue with my XBOX controller on PC, when i autoattack game constantly use my potion, with make it unplayable. BTW, disabling GeForce is not a solition…

I had this issue (controller switching between keyboard/mouse inputs making the game unplayable) with my PS5 controller with it wired to my PC. I seem to have solved it. I went to the Steam > Settings > Controller > Desktop Configuration > Browse Configs > Recommended > Disabled.

This does not disable the controller - it disables the steam overlay interpreting inputs for the controller.

For anyone on this forum using blizzard. Go into steam app settings->controller-> turn off game rumble. That seemed to fix the A button acting weird for me.

This worked for me instantly, though I had to go a different route.
Steam>Settings>Controller> Disable the “Enable Steam Input for Xbox Controllers” setting.
I am using a wired Xbox controller and had the game running when i made this change to the steam controller settings. Fixed it instantly.

disable geforce experience fixed it for me.

i did try all the steam stuff first - but that had no effect.

My wired controller was working & then suddenly stopped.
So i bought a Xbox wireless one, however every so often the blue tooth starts to flash & i cant move my character, at first i thought it was me, however after more testing i can confirm it does it on its own?

My controller disconnects whenever I level up. Didn’t do this before the last update.
