Couch co-op and console subscription

Hello, my question is: do both players need console subscription for online play to play couch co-op, or just one is enough?

I bought digital deluxe edition for PlayStation 5. For the beta weekends and serverslam my girlfriend simply connected with the second controller added her battlenet account and was able to play.

Ps5 shares the licence for players in the same console

Yeah, we play couch co-op for many games, any 3rd person adventure game (I do the boss fights) we play in tandem.

Best advice I can give, is make sure your partner is a gamer too.

I told her I used a week’s annual leave for diablo 4 and she just rolled her eyes and said, “figured you would”.
