Crash , 4070 ti , crash and more crashes

The situation as become unacceptable, before i explain here is my pc setup :
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor 4.70 GHz
ram 32,0 GB
GTX 4070 TI

this is the last of an infinite series of crashes error code :
A06468C1-FFC6-4693-B84F-2AE970177A31

After i lost a char 50 and 30 in hardcore i swapped into eternal and crashes had become even more often, the game is UNPLAYABLE at the moment and its making me hate this game .
I cant imagine my set up cant hold this game while i hold cyberpunk at 130 fps . Other games played at max whit high fps : star wars battlefront 2 , gears 5, halo infinite, motogp 22, TOTAL WAR warhammer 3!!!
i can imagine there are some hard trouble here and im worryed about my pc safety at the moment. wont open the game till im sure its fixed.
Very Very bad experience…I only have few hours to sit and…crash… sad, was waiting this game from time.

Try to undervolt and/or underclock your card a little bit. I had no issues with other games but only D4 crashed like crazy on my 1080Ti. I did like -50MHz on GPU and -250MHz on VRAM and it it runs for hours without issues. And no, it was not overheating.

The crash you’re getting is a GPU Timeout, usually these can be seen in the Windows Error Reports as LiveKernelEvents with Code 141. They are basically the Render Device Lost errors from Overwatch 2, which is why this support article can help.

you suppose to fix game not blame customer!

Hello, I haven’t played yesterday but today I have started getting these fenris errors again and there is GPU driver crash in event viewer. I have been playing fine since last month without issues and have not done any changes or updates.
Please check the latest game patches/hotfixes as that’s the only thing which changed.

The software just locks the entire system up when in use. It causes me to have to hard reboot.

Yes I have checked for over heating. That is not occurring. No I am not overclocking.

yes yes yes all my drivers are updated. Yes yes yes i ran windows update. I am sick to death of this question as if to shut the person up. Yes everything is running at default speeds. This only happens in Diablo IV. Fix your game.

What harddrive are you using?

An SSD of course…sigh

Yeah, I had too much positive thinking. The game coding for PC is so bad and dont work for some people. Blizzard is just ghosting this and want you too think Its your own fault or a bad hardware you have. Its such a retarded way of handling this situation Im thinking they what will they do next in there way of missusing there company name.

yeah same problem here with a 3060 TI, played both betas with any problem at all but I been randomly crashing with Fenris errors since launch, I’m still waiting to any form of response by Blizzard.

Has Blizzard encountered anyone reporting this error after going into event viewer post crash?

I should like to also point out that there is no DMP file being created in the Minidump directory in Windows.

Is anyone else reading this also encountered “0x8000400000000002” in event viewer?

The error shows when the system is given a hard shut down. Holding down the power button.

Holding down the power button to turn the system off is the only way to reboot the system whenever I encounter Diablo IV crashing (which again locks up the whole system).

To reiterate, I have everything running at stock speeds, I have an SSD etc etc etc as previously mentioned. There is also no indication of over heating. I have also ran sfc /scannow in command prompt and everything shows up clean. Furthermore, I have also ran mem test and have ruled out the possibility of bad RAM.

Can you guys try going to nvidia control panel and enable Debug Mode in the Help menu and check if crashes still persist?

I can indeed do that. However, after another inevitable crash where would I then go to check any log from enabling debug mode?

I am starting to wonder if there is a hardware issue coupled with some software problem (Diablo IV).

It would be nice if a DMP file had been created that way I’d at least have something else to share but again, there was nothing in the Minidump sub directory in Windows.

I would say with a error like that Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power, maybe your powersupply is in redline power drain, and this game suffers from a terrible problem that seems like a Memory Leak, / Vram Consumed.
When your Graphic Card is in extreme state when this happen maybe he is trying to push more power and BOOMS.

Try to cap the game to the FPS = to the Hz of your screen and see if it happens.

Hi, Debug Mode actually only forces your GPU to run at Stock Nvidia reference clocks, disabling any factory overclocking.
It seems DX12 is very sensitive to the tiniest overclocking, and many gpu sellers (Asus, EVGA etc) overclock them from factory.

Attempted to cause a shut down by running furmark’s GPU burn in test. Did it on maximum settings. system didn’t shut down. So I ran the GPU burn in AND CPU burn in at the same time hoping to put a load on my system. Everything remained stable.

When I run Diablo IV the system lockup occurs even on medium settings. I generally run it on high.

If I can not reproduce error “0x8000400000000002” outside of Diablo IV then to me that says the problem is the software (Diablo IV). The game is doing something to cause the problem.

Try turning off GPU Hardware Acceleration in windows if you haven’t already. Fixed the blue screening for me straight away.

So far I have disabled Game Mode, GPU hardware acceleration, and GPU hardware scheduling in Windows 11.

This seems to have fixed the problem.

However, it is extremely frustrating that the developer would come into the tech support section of the official forums and tell the customer that it is somehow the customers fault. This is clearly a software problem outside of the control of the customer!

Either fix your game, and/or start working with your partners in the industry to get it RIGHT

Happened again 10 minutes ago. Doesn’t happen with any other piece of software.
It’s not over heating! If it was I would be crashing my computer left and right when I put it though its paces with bench-marking software which i named in a prior post!

Fix your Game!
