Crash after upgrade to GeForce 4070 Ti Super

I just upgraded from Radeon VII to GeForce 4070 Ti Super and Diablo IV stopped working. It shows logo, plays music for 10 seconds then freezes. Everything is latest version (windows, drivers, game). Other games I have work just fine.

Blizzard - sorry, but we don’t give a damn about your problems, the technical part of the game, content, servers and other problems! We received your money, we are not interested anymore! All the best, good luck

Try to reinstall game, could help.

hi, the radeon 7 is a 5yr old card so the new card is quite the upgrade. I’d make sure ALL the old drivers were completley uninstalled (manually delete the folders after if there is still a trace after uninstall) install the latest 4070 drivers and also reinstall the latest direct x and id personally uninstall battlenet and put that back on then run the launcher and let the game update. Please let us know how you get on after doing this.

ps im hoping the rest of your pc system is up to date because having an old intel i3 say and 16gb of memory is not gonna work with the new card its gonna be bottlenecked to hell.

Yeah, the rest of my system is pretty old too - threadripper 2950X, 128GB Ram, and a bunch of samsung ssd’s plus 1TB optane.

Try driver sweeper from guru 3d. Wipe all previous gpu drivers.

It could also be the cache for shaders. So delete the folder

Delete the Blizzard Entertainment Folder

Step 1: Open Run by pressing Win + R and copy and paste %programdata% to enter.

Step 2: Locate and right-click on the Blizzard Entertainment folder and choose to delete it.

You may need to disable the cache 1st, in which case:

Clear Shader Cache

Step 1: Go to Start > Settings > System > Storage and click Temporary files from the right panel.

Step 2: Check the option of DirectX Shader Cache and disable other options.

I uninstalled the game and battle.net then installed it again. Meanwhile, the new nVidia driver has also arrived. Everything works ok now.
