D4 economy is a joke, an unfunny one

I’ll start with Gem crafting, I have three Sapphires each valued at 4gp to a total of 12gp. To turn them into one flawless sapphire is costs me 18k gp, that flawless sapphire is then valued at a whopping 4gp. That is the same as a standard sapphire but it cost 18,012gp to make, a loss of 18,008gp. Now on to being able to insert my 4g gem. My ancestral unique staff is worth 356,497gp, but it has no slots. it cost 322,847gp per slot. So two slots costs 645,694gp, but only adds 68,722gp to the price of my staff… But you can farm drops for gold right!? Well for example an ancestral rare ring, slotted at 792 item power is worth only 24,831, that’s kind of average for ancestral rares, some item fetch more, some less. So the time it takes to farm let’s say 2m gp, is painfully long compared to how quick you can spend that much with the cost of adding gems and gods forbid crafting an item and rolling a stat. Unless you grind, day in and day out you can’t progress your gear, even if you get the drops. What a joke.

D4 doesn’t have an economy.

You’re thinking of money sinks.

I agree though, the costs in this game are ridiculous. At level 75, A yellow from a vendor is 600,000+.

yup gold is sck, but they will fix the game in the next 5 season or so.
