In Diablo appear almost only ancient gods who later became demons with the Catholic Church, but only the prominent figures appear, Baal, Mephisto, Diablo (the Devil - Lucifer) …
There are thousands of demons in literature and history, Mephistopheles, Malacoda (Dante Alighieri - Inferno), Luvgaar come to mind (yes, I know I’m an editor, but in my works I talk about the Demon of Light who would be Luvgaar the Archdemon, it’s a personal philosophy of mine that I brought to occult literature).
But there are as well as these many others, Naheina, Satan (Himself), Satanachia, Moloch, Bacchus himself, Zues, Pluto, Hades, according to the Catholic Church they are all demons in equal measure, the Gentile gods, so also for the Egyptian gods.
Maybe Diablo will never be able to encompass all the demonic encyclopedia, stuff that even an older demonologist doesn’t know from beginning to end (insert a “demonologist” fig in Diablo 4?).
There is, however, one figure who is almost as old as Mephisto and Baal, I am talking about Baphomet. Now I know that the Khazra are inspired by him, we miss him, but we wouldn’t be happy with a season with “Baphomet, Lord of the Khazra”?!? Now in Diablo 4 we also have the corrupted Templars, it would be perfect, who cares if he has breasts or a prominent chest… or even just an object that could be called “Baphomet’s Soul” or “Baphomet’s Point” or even “Baphomet’s Horns”, without him/her appearing in presence…
It would also be a nice recognition if the most creative players were mentioned in some way in the game, but for that our PCs are already there, ok, they are part of the game too.
I’ll throw it out there, maybe it’s interesting.
PS
Oh, and I still overwhelm the public realm in Diablo IV.
