The death limit isn’t cool for squishy classes. I liked the time limit of D3 greater rifts better.
Generally I think D3 is still the better game. I just lacks some endgame variety. Just as D4.

If you run in a group and get revived, it doesnt substract from the limit. (or you could try to reduce squishyness of your char, or play more defensively. Most times when i die, i overestimated the power of my char.)
Sure, we can adjust to bad systems.
i never had an issue with the limit. i only failed a NMD once because of my own fault for chasing a loot goblin into a group of 6 ice elites (and because i totally forgott there was a limit to begin with)
I agree. For soft characters, this is unbearable. I’m playing cheat 54 nightmare and the electric wasp just kills me. I’m not talking about poisons and the dungeon buff. when you need to get under the dome. if you don’t pass then you’re dead) buy a game for 100 bucks where there is no balance in the dungeons. I often run alone and it infuriates me. what a wild damage to you. how to play on 70+ then? run out and die. why do it at all? . D3 gave me great pleasure. and here is a resting place, my ass is on fire from this game.
Yeah I also prefer greater rifts in diablo 3, I hate it when entering a dungeon and becoming stressed out knowing I can only die 4 times, it sucks.
I was actually doing a dungeon the other day with cold enchanted mobs and there was a group of 5 elites which would insta stun me and kill me in 3 hits. When I died the 4th time trying desperately to make it past them I just got kicked out of the dungeon that was almost complete and all the loot on the ground was just deleted.
10/10 game right there.
I don’t know if anyone has ever played (or still plays) Gauntlet Slayer edition but that game has the perfect solution for death limits! You start the game with 2 Skull Coins (revives) and a bar which fills whenever you kill monsters and when it is full you receive an extra Skull Coin (revive).
I agree! I was trying to do a NM90 for the season journey on my very squishy character, and i have more than enough damage, could have easily cleared it, if it wasn’t because i died from a single hit, in spite of having 70% on all resists and 11k armor.
I made it just about half way when i used up my last death.
In Diablo 3, 4 deaths takes 2mins off of a 15min long timer (30sec per death), in Diablo 4, 4 deaths means game over, its not really fair.
One of the biggest flaws of Diablo 3’s endgame was the “oneshot or get oneshot” gameplay, its so sad to see Diablo 4 make the same mistake, and on top of that, punish you even harder for it.
I dont mind playing defensively, but when everything just kills you in a single hit, and you have to avoid getting hit by litterally anything, just to have a chance, its just too much.
