I keep hearing, “We’re listening to feedback.”
I believe Blizzard is listening. The problem is that much of this feedback isn’t new.
Players have been asking for account-wide War Plans. Yet the PTR notes mention party syncing while completely avoiding the bigger issue that alt progression still feels unnecessarily restrictive.
If there is a design reason for keeping War Plans character-locked, tell us. If the data says account-wide progression hurts engagement, tell us. If there’s a technical limitation, tell us. The silence is what frustrates players.
Are you pulling the wool over our eyes like POE’s campaign grind?
The other concern is class nerfs.
Last season, Torment difficulty was increased. If player power is exceeding expectations, why is the answer to make classes weaker instead of tuning Torment scaling, monster health, rewards, or difficulty progression? Players enjoy overcoming harder challenges. They don’t enjoy logging in to find their characters feeling worse than they did yesterday.
What makes this frustrating is that Blizzard already showed us what success looks like.
The recent season felt different. Many content creators who typically move on after 48-72 hours were still playing and streaming three to four weeks later. That’s roughly a 700% increase in engagement time compared to the normal cycle.
Something was working.
When streamers stay longer, communities stay active longer. Discussions stay alive. More builds get explored. More players remain invested.
Instead of asking why players are concerned about nerfs, ask why players stayed so much longer when the game was focused on empowering them.
The community isn’t asking for free power.
We’re asking Blizzard to identify what created that momentum and build on it instead of risking the very things that kept players engaged.
