Why cam is so close? Will it be possible to set the camera in the full version of game?
They broke the game. It’s unplayable for me. No map overlay causes constant screen changes, totally excessive and annoying. Camera is WAY too close. Not a bit too close, way too close. Had they used d2r camera distance and a map overlay, the game would be great and I could buy it. In current form it gives me motion sickness and a migraine. Totally unplayable, won’t be buying it until it’s fixed.
I was kind of disappointed nothing changed with the cam distance between both betas.
It’s really bad, it slowly creeps up on me how annoying it is. And it’s not just that. Everything UI related feels like it’s a mobile or console game.
To be honest I think we’re stuck with this it doesn’t feel realistic they’ll make any changes to the cam distance (let alone the ui) and so I’m not spending money for now.
I like the camera distance. It’s the same as PoE, so maybe I’m just more used to it. But it catches the details they’ve put work into and makes you feel more “in the game”.
I’m also glad there’s no map overlay, because all that does is that you basically just play the map game, and completely forget to look and immerse yourself with the surroundings. People play games for different reasons, and even if ARPG’s arent know for immersion, I’m very glad to see it in D4.
Cam distance to far = there’s no surprise anymore. Having it closer, you can be caught by surprise in dungeons and stuff. I also prefer wider POVs, but hey, that’s a first world problem. Just enjoy the frigging rest which is amazing.
Unfortunately there’s no enjoying a game that gives motion sickness and migraines. Completely unplayable in current form. Needs map overlay and much further zoom distance.
Personally I think it’s fine but I couldn’t mind if it were to be zoomed out.
It’s not the game that’s unplayable. It’s you that you should seek for treatment, to be honest. Color blind people don’t complain about false colors in the graphics. You feel the right to say that the game is “unplayable” just because you suffer motion sickness.
BhĂ . Go to a doctor, not the Diablo forums.
Camera is fine. It’s like PoE camera.
But I’m battled about overlay: I understand the purpose but at least they could give us the option to zoom (a lot) out the minimap.
I’d like to zoom out more, it’s closer than Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 and it feels like a compromise with little benefit.
won 't 2k move the player 's camera further away than full hd .In Dota two , I only removed the character like that .the screen has become higher than the character and is high through the upscaling of the nvidi
This was the same for me. I played the first beta on Xbox and didn’t notice this problem at all. But during the server slam I played on the PC and had to stop after 30 minutes because I almost had a headache.
Unfortunately often with motion sickness there isn’t some magical treatment you’re eligible to get that will completely take away your symptoms of motion sickness. However with most modern games there has been an increase in accessibility options that help combat these issues a growing percentage of gamers are having. In your example of “Color blind people don’t complain about false colors in the graphics”, that’s untrue, in-fact Blizzard has implemented a colorblind option in Diablo 4 for this very reason. What I believe Nefarious is trying to state is that there are simple adjustments to games that developers often don’t include in their game so individuals who do suffer from motion sickness have 3 choices. #1. Don’t play the game, #2. Find a 3rd party program or mod that adjusts camera specifications, or #3. Endure your symptoms for as long as possible. Treatment can sometimes alleviate these issues but for those of us who have done so and still have problems playing some titles, it’s disappointing that such a massive company/game developer would not include more accessibility options.
No unfortunately it is what it is, although people have asked for it since the first demo.
its the EXACT same camera position as Diablo Immortal, they are using the exact same template for both games, same “engine” for camera or whatever
its really bad because it is too vertical, meaning the camera is placed looking down onto the head too much rather then lower and more panoramic like D2. so the environment doesnt have “context” meaning you are just walking around walls, obstacles, “things” rather then appreciating the whole map like in D2. It doesnt feel good
The game does not cause that, you probably have an underlying health issue.
Get to the doctor, probably an eye test too. Hope you get a good diagnosis.
Completely disagree. I spent so much time admiring the scenery my mate had to tell me off.
The distance is spot on, for seeing detail and having a decent range for combat.
Think the majority agree it’s currently spot on.
Camera is far too close. A perfect example is when fighting a boss eg. Elias as a ranged and not being able to see them use abilities from afar. Not to mention running dungeons on higher tier sigils and not being able to see what’s going on. Packs aggro you before you can even see them on screen.
As with the map overlay, again, I totally agree. I’m constantly staring at my mini map to see pathing in the open world and missing all the beautiful detail they created. This is also due to limiting hitboxes of terrain and clunky horse mechanics. A nice QOL here would be to add a soft route overlay in game for when you’ve pinned a location on the map so I can watch the actual game.
Hey guys, camera on Diablo 4 IS TOO FAR, you wish to see 2 dots on your screen or what ? Since the graphics are pretty decent with stylish characters and animations, the camera should allow to play the game from very very close, like normal games (e.i. Baldur’s Gate 3)…thanks.
Otherwise why would you bother having cool characters or graphics if you cain’t see anything ? Fortunately i’m on PS5 with a big TV screen…
This is either an epic troll or I’m very confused…
