Having same issue here, disconnection only happens when using lan, switching to wifi I have no issues. I highly doubt this is on the user’s end as so many people have this issue across multiple hardwares configurations.
Yeah it is kind of weird that in every post about their underperforming laggy servers they infer that somehow your hardware/software is the issue when we can all logically agree that the game is the issue and the problem is on their part.
Same issue here. I play for up to 3 minutes with ethernet connection and my modem crashes. Not just the lan port the entire modem. Router is fine. Tried resetting both just in case, to no avail. I also didn’t have latest nvidia driver installed so doing that and windows update to see if that solves problem. My guess is it won’t
Same issue here, on PS5. I managed to get a lil time in with minimal lag and glitching but then I started to freeze and glitch again. Been having issues most of this week. Got a new modem and router and spent the other night on the phone with spectrum getting it straight but it still happens. First the game slows and crashes, then the rest of my internet entirely. Also now the poor connection and attempts to reconnect have locked me out of the game. I guess the upside is by the time my internet gets working again my suspension will be lifted. I’ll try disabling cross play for now but we definitely need a serious fix for this
Same here, my home router is a ZTE 3600
Every time I would attempt to complete the dungeon Mercy’s reach, once I set the first of the two cubes, my internet connection would drop shortly after. I turned of the firewall. This did not help. This dungeon was consistently causing the internet to drop. I do no thin that it is the ISP. It appears that the game is causing something to cause the internet to drop or causing the ISP to drop the connection. The connection comes back once the game closes due to lack of connection.
I’m having a similar issue. I’m not sure what is causing it, but I’ll randomly just stop moving and the disconnect. But it’s not just my computer. My entire internet crashes at home and comes back up 30-60 seconds later. My wife on her computer completely disconnects as well. It’s so bad that I can’t really play because of how hard the disconnects are with not only taking me offline, but kicking my wife out of whatever online game she’s playing as well.
im having the same issue right now. im able to play for 5-10 minutes before i start lagging and i get disconnected. the wifi on my phone goes out as well. really wish this would get resolved soon, the game is practically unplayable with this issue.
Since when did something that highlights an underlining issue or aggressively bring it to light become the issue itself.
If this was a real Diablo 4 issue there would be tens of thousands of people pouring into the forums to raise hell about it!
If you’re entire internet connection is being taken out when you play Diablo 4, then contact your ISP for an investigation. If needed they will contact the relevant team at Blizzard if there is indeed a coloration, but ultimately Blizzard is not responsible for the stability of your broadband connection, nor should they be the first point of contact.
Same problem, on ps5 from italy. Only happens while playing diablo 4. All the net restart so for 1-2 minutes nobody can go on internet and obliviously diablo 4 kicks me off. It’s a problem i NEVER had with games and to be honest i never had problems with my modem. It’s for sure something related to the game.
I have been having the same issue, and before we blame the ISP, we need to look at the fact that I have been able to run 3 consoles, 3 gaming pcs and work PCs on my network and not 1 network drop until I installed battlenet onto my gaming PC to play Diablo IV. I am literally watching my task manager as I play Diablo IV and my Network stats disappear during the gameplay, and the game subsequently crashes. I played other games watching the same task manager and the Network stats remain and I do not lose connection to the games or crash. I, and I assume the other players, are loving the game and don’t want to continue to have games dropped due to something battlenet is doing to our NICs.
same issue. most prevalent in nightmare dungeons but happens in other content as well. probably wasted 10 sigils by now due to micro disconnects kicking me out the game. it’s a tiny disconnect which seems to affect the network adapter for some reason. also maybe add a longer grace period to log back in? tired of losing sigils all the time…
Can’t even download the game. 30 seconds and then the Ethernet crashes. Trying to contact both blizzard and IPS, no solution so far.
exact same issue been happening since friday went away for the weekend came back sunday same issue occuring 5 mins of play then disconected… playing last night from around 9pm UK time to 11pm no issue then today tuesday same issue again… was 100% perfect on early access… and for those people saying its not a diablo issue how can so many people from different corners of the world have the same issue with complete different ISP’s… and yes it does take out my entire network for a few seconds on the system im using but everything else connected to the network is fine
This is a valid issue. Same is happening to me. I get a network disconnect crash and my whole internet drops for about 45 seconds to 2 minutes. My wife will be steaming netflix in other room and her show cuts out and comes back and WiFi on our phones do the same. I watch my router and it disconnects and show’s red lights and goes back to white in that time frame. Please stop saying talk to your internet provider as this has NEVER happened with any other game. Its a bug and needs to be addressed asap.
The problem here is that people are injecting into this thread with two separate issues, and everyone is piling onto them as the same issue, your entire internet connection being dropped at modem level when communicating with your ISP rendering your entire household offline is not the same as the game causing a single device (the one it’s running on) to experience intermittent networking issues.
One of these issues can only be effectively investigated by the ISP as they are the only one with the relevant tools and logs, the other is on the user or Blizzard to investigate a software driver issue and/or conflict.
Edit: That’s not to say you ISP is the one at fault, but they are best equipped to investigate it, and contact the relevant technical department at blizzard if required. Blizzard technical support do not have access to the technical logs kept by your provider.
I will not get into a long winded thread battle and do appreciate your insights on the matter as a whole. However, my situation, is that when running Diablo IV via battlenet, it kills my NIC for the PC I am playing it on (and I did try the change ports, reset NIC, etc support suggests). Again, I know this by the fact that the status of the Network disappears. As this is happening on the Diablo IV PC, another PC, connected to the same switch and same modem stays online the entire time without the slightest of hiccups. With nothing different on my established network, except the installation of Diablo IV and battlenet and trying ALL of supports workarounds, one can ONLY have the conclusion that the issue is the software. Again, I am not looking to keyboard warrior battle this or disrespect Diablo IV, loving the game, I just want it to run without the crashes.
I appreciate that, not looking to argue only discuss, and I get it, coming from a technical background these things can be tricky to diagnose, and with 99% of players not having an issue it would suggest that yes the game is causing something to happen, but rather than being the root issue, it is highlighting/brining to light an issue elsewhere. This would be alot easier to troubleshoot if people were posting useful information such as:
- O/S (Version Number and latest patch installed)
- Network Card Manufacturer / Model (and driver version)
- Firewall software being used and what level/mode it’s operating on. (Both on the device and any networking equipment its enabled on)
- Do they have any other software or services running that use ports:
- TCP: 1119, 6112-6114, 28890-28893, 54545-54549
- UDP: 1119, 6120
Edit: In the case of full modem resets and disconnections, who the ISP is and what model of modem you have.
And if so, is there port forwarding set up for other software or games that use to another device on the local network.
Information like this is needed to draw colorations and commonalities that could help to narrow down the cause. “Not working” is not the start and finish when looking to resolve a niche issue like this.
This is happening to me as well. I see it most when I alt-tab out of the game for a minute. My latency goes through the roof and packet loss goes crazy from my PC. A few seconds later, my router has to reconnect to the ISP. It’s happened over and over and over the last few days.
OS: Windows 11 22H2
Network (integrated in motherboard: Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V
Firewall: Windows Defender (irrelevant because it happens with it turned off as well)
Other services: Steam, Teams (both have been turned off with change)
ISP: Consolidated Communications, 1 GB connection
NOTE: The most recent occurrence, I could not even complete the first dungeon with out it crashing my connection.
