Diablo 4 crashes my internet connection

Makes you wonder if it was just a ddos attack the other day or was there something more sinister going on that is now letting them access players connected to it, does it not ?.

I had 2 days of trouble free playing since the latest patch. Unfortunately today I seem to be having issues with loading the next playable area.

Diablo crash my connection, other games works, other platforms works fine.
Before the patch zero problems, now every 5-20 minutes crash.
Windows and device drivers updated, router restarted, dns flush, vpn on/off (same effect) and firewall disabled and enabled with Diablo and Battle.net allowed.
Nothing works for me.

piorunz, when a specific product doesnt work as intended with other services that work fine with everything else, its that product thats at fault.

If a company puts out a toaster that fries the power outlet its plugged into, you wouldnt go around and tell everyone its their outlet thats at fault and expect everyone to replace their outlets to accomodate the toaster.

Its unreasonable for Blizzard to expect everyone to fuss around with their ISP and buy a new/update their router when they clearly have done something in the coding of Diablo 4 that doesnt mesh well with peoples otherwise perfectly functional internet.

If everything else is running perfectly fine and only Diablo 4 causes issues, thats blizzards problem and they need to optimise their product to work with existing services.

Im personally suspicious as to why I only see 2 TCP connections being made with other MMO’s while playing them, and when I start up Diablo 4 it seems to try to make and maintain around 50 TCP connections? That seems a little excessive to me. Maybe the game is overloading peoples internets with the amount of connections its trying to achieve. Why does Diablo 4 need around 25 times more connections running at once compared to other online games.

FastTrakz, No. Blizzard know full well what equipment and software is out there and being used. They should build their game to work with that. If theyve decided to use some kind of different internet communication method that tens of thousands of peoples connections arent set up for, they should make that known. Just like how they are expected to make PC hardware needs known so customers will be aware if the game will work with their specs.

If a single appliance isnt working in a house full of perfectly functional appliances, you dont blame the house, you blame the appliance.

This is not windows 98.

The fix you have provided is not a fix… Com port 1… lols and LPT to boot, what age are you living in? xD

I think you replied to the wrong dude.

They can do whatever they want, there is no law that states they need to make everything work for everyone. People can refund or get their equipment in line with what is known to work. Pioneers don’t innovate by constantly sticking with decades old safe near-going obsolete infrastructure, the same as if Blizzard have found something that works better for them at the detriment of 0.01% of their player-base then it’s a no brainer you sacrifice 0.01% of sales for the method’s you prefer. No brainer.

This is just insane … god I hate this … maybe i should just fall back to my old pc … :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
First the fps drops playing on everything at low and then these LAN killer moments … different drivers different settings nothing helps at all … but it’s not every day …
sometimes I can reset my LAN connection sometimes it’s just disabled and can’t activate it / doing so results in hang up … even windows reboot hangs up… ending up with reset button …
But I can’t get it … diablo and I225-V (3) LAN Drivers are absolutely incompatible :rage:

Happened to me too today… been playing with minimal issues for about 2 weeks using a LAN… like 5 hours this morning no problem, and then out of nowhere this afternoon, I start the game, and after a minute or so, the music stops, the game slows down to a crawl then stops altogether. Out of the game, I realize that my internet connection is gone. Other devices are still working fine. Resetting the pc fixes the connection until I restart diablo IV and it crashes again and again in exactly the same fashion.

Blizzard claimed another victim, diablo makes my ethernet restart every few minutes too

what windows version are u on

i am late to party to get the game, during the install it crashes internet at 39% everytime. i have exhausted every idea i can, resetting and redownloading the app and game, using different routers and cords, and diff modem. reset my pc completely. had to redownload lots of stuff everything but this game works fine. even swapped out my ram because i had an issue a while back with it corrupting the downloads so i have extra now. idk what to do. prob just get my money back for game

where are you getting the source for your statistics and percentages? not asking out of malice im genuinely wondering if you can share a source or something. maybe i can get on board with what your saying

Here is some basic napkin math, the only way to get actual numbers is if Blizzard release a statement using info from their customer support metrics, until then, working with the numbers we do have is the only way to approximate.

Greetings from Germany,
After everything went fine while i played the betas and prelaunch, after hardlaunch i got this issue too.
Some days i may play several hours without any problems, sometimes i may log in, get kicked with server/accountbann, my ethernet-connectin (only my PC) gets wrecked, while my kids are streaming furtheron… My Fritzbox-router isn’t offline at all, but my connection via ethernet switches like on-off-on-off-on-off.
I made all steps of the FAQ für connection issues, spoke to the costumer support and now i have to swap my internet provider, reset router or renew my router to play Diablo 4…

Ähm, no?!

so in other words this is just your math. thanks

How do you think other “sources” would work this out… magic? crystal ball maybe?

you made up your own statistics its ok man. was looking for more credited source. by my calculations its more than .01%, but i did use a little magic 8 ball to help me there.

My own statistics? It’s literally the sales figures corelating with how many people are complaining, then compensating the people we don’t see on here using data from Statistica for people who don’t tend to use the social features and would have contacted Blizzard out-with the public forums. If this was anything more than a blimp in the grand scheme then there would be more than a single thread on both the US and EU forums with 1 or 2 people adding themselves to the thread every other day, out of by this point, over 10 million players.
