No, that is handled by the staff. I gave several examples.
I suspect the key word here is “unwarranted”. You may not think it is warranted, others do. If someone wants to publicly bring up their account action, make accusations, lie about it. Then they should not be shocked when the people they accuse address it.
I don’t know the reddit folks at all. I have no idea how big that group is or if they have staff who would normally handle such thing. If it is a small group, then I am not shocked the person in charge did that.
I don’t think a reddit Discord is anything near the scale of the Activision Blizzard corporation.
If someone does not want their account action discussed, they should not bring it up publicly.
We’ll agree to disagree.
My professional background has taught me better, however it has involved aspects of peoples lives that actually matter, and leave the organization(s) I’ve represented open to legal action for publicly disclosing any information, fact or not. But I’ll take your points on board, it’s a gaming forum and actual identities are somewhat to an extent anonymized.
Indeed. Nobody can get your real name, address, phone, or any other personal information based off a Battletag or Discord name. Not unless the person made a very unwise decision and put it in there! I would never ever be ok with doxing someone.
Thank you for looking at both sides of the discussion. So rare online

I have found gaming/class discords to be a cesspit ran by egos in the past, they sort of like to waft in their own farts if you get what I mean.
I’m not saying the D4 one is like this, I’m not on it, I don’t join these communities any more because they are always very closed circle, can generally be quite aggressive towards outsiders and anyone who will disagree with the status quo. Generally no value to be found there beyond the superficial surface level information.
I remember one of these discords, WoW related banning players for talking about a topic related to class builds, they were banned because it was deemed stupid to consider this discussion and within 2 weeks of this discussion everyone was playing the “stupid” build because it was the best.
The point being they tend to be echo chambers for the opinions of a few, delivered to the peasants and not to be questioned.

Yup someone on the Diablo 4 discord server asked me to boost him in levels and I said no he went and false reported me I got banned for “scamming” they said. All it took was one guy to false report for me to be removed
