The story, very good. The soundtrack, spectacular. The gameplay is not bad…
But that they are constantly giving you legendaries is absurd and boring.
Why did Diablo 2 like it so much, being such a bad game? Because the best items were difficult to obtain.
The first year of Diablo 3 was also good, seeing a legendary was difficult, and the incentive to get them motivated you to continue playing.
On top of us they throw objects that are difficult to understand.
Sometimes the simple and good is better than the complex and bad.
Just because an item is Legendary doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for your build.
Yeah but the D3 auction house made legendaries pretty abundant at the beginning. I like D3’s system. Tons of legendaries, but no target farming, and to progress you need the ancient variants with good affixes. I played D3 last season and had a lot of fun, all the hate toward it feels unjustified now.
Been trying to get Accelerating Aspect for days still not a drop.
Most legendaries when Diablo 3 came out were worse than rares, highest ilvl weapon drop was 61 for example, while rares could drop at 62 and 63 making all legendary weapons completely obsolete initially.
The best items were, but uniques and set items were common. The best ones were uncommon. The same is somewhat true in D4, but droprates are closer to current D3 where you get a lot of garbage legendaries and occasionally you get something really good.
Honestly the gearing in D4 I think is great, rares play a large role, uniques have niche uses.

You just get flooded just like in D3. My Rogue already has like 80% ancestral items, sometimes I get like 6 unique items in a 3 hour play-session which is absolutely absurd.
Theres basically zero excitement about drops anymore.
You get loads of legendarys drop but 98% of them are useless for your build, so them dropping all the time is almost like them not dropping at all, test this for instance all legendarys that drop for you put them on instantly and see what happens !!!, your character will be screwed very very quickly.
Aren’t all Legendary effects (“Aspects”) available off a Dungeon, just that it’d be the lowest possible value of its range?
Some of them only drop from items.
Most of them are available, but not all.
Codex seems like it’s meant to be something to get you moving at low level, imprinting at high levels gets quite expensive in gold/materials and the codex powers are so weak compared to a full fat version it feels bad to put them on good quality items.
