Suddenly, from one day to the other, just 5 hours difference since I last played, a forced driver version check was implemented (through the launcher I suppose) that makes mandatory the use of newer drivers.
This is a mistake.
A mistake because the only drivers that let me play the game until last night without BSOD and stuttering are drivers that are more than one year old, (March, May 2024) and the one that has by far the best performance is the one that came originally with my system in 2019… it plays Diablo IV flawlessly with excellent performance and RTX enabled.
ALL publically available drivers from early 2025 until today crash Diablo IV every single time with BSOD the moment you step out of any town. Not even a minute’s play. And since finding and fixing the problem could take several months if ever (it was the reason I stopped playing for long time… so you are not going to fix it) let the players use the driver that lets the game and their system run best. The problem is the new drivers. Not the old ones.
Unless you are in cahoots with Nvidia’s artificial obsolence through driver updates please remove the forced driver check.
