Dungeon reset? Thoughts

Hi all durning the Server slam I unfortunately only got on for maybe 30-40 mins
How was the new reset mechanics

Do you get any idea how long till you can run the same dungeon again with a timer or an icon
Or should they bring back the button which I quite liked personally
Thanks in advance

The way it works now is that the dungeon automatically completely resets if you are outside of the dungeon for about 1 minute.

There also seems to be a bug on the server slam that made the dungeon reset even if you had an active town portal and just wanted to sell some items in town.

I really hope Blizzard looks into that and fixes the bug, not being able to go back to town while doing a dungeon is going to be really bad design for the game.

They should bring back the button and if they whant the timer just add a timer for the use of the button. Becouse as it was in the server slam the timer was to damn short, whent back to town to empty inventory and just the run time to BS and back to portal made it so the dungeon had resetted when all i had left was the last boss. (the one with the worgen boss in the end)

Yeh it was annoying and too fast to have it automatically reset, i’d prefer a button to manually reset as well. Going back to sell and repair only to return to the start of a dungeon is really really annoying imho.

I would say that a dungeon can’t be reset manually, but has a automatically reset in 24 hours. So, if you have done a dungeon, you can’t do it again within 24 hours.

If you join another player, which hasn’t done the dungeon yet, you can do the dungeon with that person within 24 hours. But you won’t get any legendary drops, only some basic drops with gold.

Or you can say, manual reset but the boss only has a chance to drop legendary or other high tier gear once per 24 hours.

I wouldn’t go that far 24 hours is abit slow, some people like to just grind the same dungeon over and over… 24 hours would really upset those people. And some of them have millions of followers.

There is a diversity of dungeons. Wouldn’t the followers be bored if they see the same dungeon over and over again anyways? The boss can still drop common and uncommon items. But not legendary’s for example.

It’s getting way to easy to get legendary’s this way. Legendary’s aren’t going to feel like lengedary’s anymore. I also find the legendary drop in Server Slam way to high.

Well yes… but, some dungeons are just better than others, laid out better, easier to navigate have slightly easier mobs, in some cases… although those big goatmen with the axes are abit ott imo.

Also some dungeons seem to be geared towards certain classes, not particularly sure if this is the case, but given some drop specific rewards for specific classes would suggest this and those classes might prefer grinding those dungeons… or not… I like alot of the dungeons, but specifically the ones with a sort of dwarven/city design are my favourite…

Correct if i’m wrong, but those specific class dungeons is only about a reward you will get. A reward that will be added to your collection tab and can be equipped to legendary gear to get a nice buff.

Once you completed it and add the reward to your collection, the dungeon will be the same as for any other class. It’s only a one time reward. You don’t even need that specific class to unlock the special collection reward. You just can’t equip it, if you dont have the right class.

Gear that dropped is always aimed at the class you play. It’s only the “special” one time reward you will get, which is added to your collection tab.

But I can be mistaken.

That is correct, you don’t need to be the specific class to get the drop. I just think maybe you might find it easier being the class the item is for, maybe it’s more of a roleplay thing… and yes once you do the dungeon, with 1 character there’s no real need to ever return, unless you later get a quest to do so. One maybe you’d missed getting before.

Yeah 24h will be far to slow
But I’m in the selection of people that 2mins is to long :joy:

Let’s go with an optimistic clear time of 3 mins per dungeon and let’s say it will take 3 mins to get to each dungeon at 6 mins per and a 150 to clear will only take 15 hours to do the lot,
As much as it’s quite set up for casuals there are plenty of sweaty try hardships out there me being one of them
When season 2 of D2R came out I played for 28h after working a full day. And I have just been made redundant at work so bring on the try hard in me

The reason blizzard removed the reset button is because some players exploited it in the beta to reset the entire dungeon while they were still inside the dungeon.

What blizzard should have done is added a fix so you can’t reset the dungeon while still being inside, but for some reason they had to remove the button itself instead…

I like being able to reset dungeons myself, in D3 we could just reset dungeons by leaving and making a new game. However it’s much simpler being able to do that inside of the game while playing.

Yes, give us back the button, but dont allow to press the button until the Dungeon is finished or until 5 minutes in open world are gone.

Resetzing per accident while selling stuff and repairing weapons feels awul. I always was on a haste with repair, sell all whites, back into dungeon. No time to sell or salvage selected nlues and yellows.

It doesn’t even need to be finished but you can’t just click it so it boots you out so your HC char doesn’t die
If you not in the dungeon you can reset if not you can’t simple
