Duriel in multiplayer

So, Duriel drops some very good loot (chase items). To balance this out, you need to farm materials to summon him so you cannot just spam him all day long. However, this concept currently does not work for multiplayer. One player can summon the boss and then everybody can loot him. Also, I believe the same is true for Varshan and Grigoire. So effectively, by grouping up you can fight and loot Duriel 16 times as often as somebody who players solo. This is a massive balancing problem. It makes me feel stupid for playing the way I enjoy, instead of grouping up with randoms on discord and just zerging the boss 24/7.

Possible solutions:
A) The boss loot is shared among the whole group. Advantage: you can still help out your buddy who has already summoned the boss but cant beat it yet.
B) Everybody in the group has to pay the summoning cost. Advantage: no argueing about loot if Duriel drops an uber unique.

PS: Yes, you could say “how other people play the game does not affect you, why do you care”. But in reality, just knowing that I have to choose between 1x the loot for playing alone or 16x the loot in a party will always make the coice feel bad, at least for me. Some minor exp bonus for party play is fine. This, in my opinion, is not.

Why on earth would anyone want to play in a group then?

The bosses scale in difficulty to the amount of people in the group. and how did you come to the conclusion 16x as often? If only one person has the materials, it will still only be one kill.

And besides, some people can play more then others, if someone only has 30 min a day, and that persons friends can put in 3 hours a day. that would actively block someone from participating with friends.

nope, its good the way it is if you ask me. if you choose to play solo, you chose to do so. that does not mean a group of friends cant share the fun because of your choice of not playing in a group when the option is available to you.

I am not sure I am getting your point. If you are referring to my solution B, every player in the party would have to farm the exact amount of materials they would if they were playing solo, to get the exact amount of loot.

That is true, but the fight is still usually faster in a group, plus you can ressurect other players while you have to restart if you are solo. So the fight will always be easier in a group, but that was not the point of my post.

Imagine a party of 4 players where every player has farmed enough materials to summon 2 Varshan and 2 Grigoire. If those players were to fight their bosses individually, they will get 2 mucrus-slick eggs and 2 shards of agony, which lets them summon and loot Duriel 1x.
If those players instead team up and fight their Varshans and Grigoires together, they can farm 8 eggs and 8 shards per player. So that is 4 Duriels per player, which makes 16 Duriels with the same amount of farmed materials per player.

If they team up and kill their Varshans and Grigories together they wil also have to kill Varshan x 8 and Grigorie x 8, so 16 bosses. while you, if solo only 2 varshan and 2 grigori , so 4 bosses. nobody would ever team up if one has to share the loot. one would have to do 8 varsh 8 x Grig to individually get the same amount of loot as you, and with only 2x varsh and 2 x grig. So I dont really understand why you see it as a problem or as unbalanced, as the amount of time to kill 16 bosses as a team compared to 4 bosses solo is pretty huge.

The amount of time you spend killing those bosses is 0 compared to the time it takes to farm the mats. The whole point of the boss requiring materials is so you cannot spam them, to balance out its good loot. Otherwise they would have just made it like Uber Lilith where you can fight her as often as you want. I am merely pointing out that this clear intention of the devs is not working for group play right now. BTW, I am already finished with the season. I am not asking them to change the way it works for this season. I am just giving feedback so they dont do the same mistake in future seasons.

My guy, there’s no way you dont understand what he’s getting at. It’s boggling my mind you dont see what he means…you somehow think it’s more work when it saves you a buuuuuunch of time and get free duriel kills out of it. Youre looking at the completely wrong thing.

Even if you do all the bosses grouped, youre killing the same amount of bosses, but EVERYONE is getting the summoning drops…

No they aren’t. I’m not sure if only the summoner gets the summoning mats, or if it’s just a reduced drop chance for everyone else. After several Varshan and Grigoire kills last night with friends, the only person that got the summoning mats was the person that summoned the boss.

Everyone in group should pay the summoning mats.
Group players already have a massive advantage in every possible way. Why are they getting 4-times the amount of runs for the exact same effort in summoning mats farming?

Either that, or boost drop-rates for solo players.
