A fun dung mechanic would be to be able to force open boss rooms, but if you do a lot of the mobs in the dung will come running to try and help the boss. kinda high risk strat for speed farming. Or maybe the boss gets some extra mechanics that make the fight harder, get 1-3 affixes or lets spells have bigger aoe, attacks that are in a straight line now ads a cone effect. Boss curses you so you lose movement speed or spells cost 50% more to use. and if you die on the boss it resets so you could choose to try to force the door open again or complete the dung “quest”.
Please don’t call dungeons dung.

well “dung” means “poop” so it really is a bad abbreviation for dungeon, which really is not a hard word.
for your idea, no, that would basically make all dungeons the same, since everyone would force open the doors.
having all dungeon mobs rush to the boss great since, exp and items will just come to you, not only would you be at the boss faster, you’d get the same exp as a normal run.
and having the boss gain more interesting mechanics would also be a plus, since it would make the fights more interessting.
why would anyone not force-open a door in that scenario?
they could just make it so you can carry multiple things back to the door at once, reducing the backtracking by a large amount.
change the 100%kill requirement to 95% or so, so that a random bat missed doesn’t force you to backtrack through the whole dungeon to find it.
make levers not take 5s to activate
make the dungeon a huge maze, where its just about finding the boss.
there are a lot of ways to make the dungeongs more diverse and less repetetive and most important imo removing backtracking.
Well if you make the forced boss fight way harder, it might make it so that you would fail, and the only way to complete the dungeon would be to do it the intended way.
if they are giving us a way to force encounter the boss, it should be much harder to a point that you might end up using more time completing the fight then not forcing it.
But having a high risk high reward system would be fun. might be hard to balance but still. dont think everyone would do it, if you keep failing 5-6 times they might giveup and grind it the intended way until they are able to force it.
but y the 100% thing is just stupid. and yes all the other problems like activate time and backtracking is bad.
