Enemies do not bleed enough

Seriously, tested Barb after reaching 25 with Sorc and was expecting a Bloodbath with melee physical like in D3…but deeply disappointed. Very little Blood, small cloud during striking and sometimes a blood stich on the ground that despawns in seconds, I mean what the heck? Imagine how cool it would look after a massacre on this blight snow to have some bloody visuals…
Also all mob types seem to have one single dying animation (tested on standard fallen and khazra) like in d2, what a huge leap backwards from d3 (beheaded khazra animation, more variation).

Funny thing: many object can bleed when melee striked, seem to be treated as enemies, how low and lazy is that programmed, Triple A title where?

Please let at least stay the blood on the ground longer and add more different Animations. So nice and gory atmospehre and world and so poorly kill Animations does not fit together at all…

Ill put it here to becaues it needs attention and has been overlooked by everyone:

"I agree; the beta didnt have enough gore when killing demons. There was a quarterly update showing things like blood on characters and barbarians chopping things in half but all that seemed to be missing from the beta.

For as gory as the environmental set pieces are ; killing demons seems painfully “PG” in comparison. So much so; it felt off.

No blood pools, just blood decals the vanished in under 3 seconds. I didnt see any gibs or pieces of demons getting hacked off or nothing of the sort.

Turning things to skeletons with fire and lightning were present but not much else in the way of the gritty , viseral , gory way youd expect from say a barbarian. And when you contrast that with the over the top gore of environment; it felt like some fx were just missing.

Maybe they were?! Idk. Going to suck in this department if its like this on release."

I can’t find the post anymore, but there was a thread talking about the exact opposite…a desire to tone down the blood and gore. To rectify this, I suggest three mods within the graphics menu.

  • Sane: The current level of blood and gore.
  • Burning Hells: Excessive levels of blood and gore: rip and tear, until it is done.
  • Whimsyshire: This converts the blood and gore into confetti and rainbow goop.

From a lore-perspective, those who choose Whimsyshire are “touched” by the realm, cured to view blood and gore in a much more pleasant light…and so they’re deemed absolutely insane by the average folk.

Granted, that’s just head canon because it tickles me pink that people are going around giggling euphorically at plumes of confetti and rainbow slop spraying about as everyone watches in horror.

Yeah I read this post too but it was concerning gore in the world. The world really has a lot of gory and bloody placed (hung up and sacrificed bodies, the quest where you find the tortured husband of this one woman asking to help).

The dead Animations and blood spilling when fighting enemies is what I critize as this is tuned down a lot compared to previous diablo games.
