Error 316610 at char selection

Hi everyone. I tried playing with my Warlock this evening and ran into error 316610. Any suggestions on how to fix it? (I’ve already tried changing the difficulty level in the launch menu, as some suggested, but nothing changed.)

I’m getting error code Error 316610 as well… some are fixing this issue by changing the difficulty but this hasn’t worked for me. waiting for a fix

After creating a second character, this error popped up, and I can’t log in to any character.

Getting that same error code as well. I tried changing the difficulty and also tried making a new character with the campaign state of “Endgame” (so skipping the campaign).

Both to no avail. According to DuckDuckGo’s AI search thing that error code means, that you have to progress through act 5 of the campaign before you can unlock endgame. My main character has been level 70 for a while now, I played that character in the endgame modes. And, as I said, making a new character returns the same error again.

I also just now tested making a new character and starting it at the LoH expansion, at the VoH expansion and in the base game. All three variants of starting a new character in the campaign return that same error code 316610.

Same here. I currently cannot log in on any of my characters, seasonal or non seasonal. I played normally yesterday…

Clearly this is a general server side problem, not a client side issue.

Just tried logging in after logging out an hour ago to make some food and it’s given me this error on my Seasonal HC character, my non HC seasonal character, and one of my Eternal characters too, no idea what it means, my side is working fine, so it’s gotta be a D-IV S15 surprise features that wasn’t mentioned on patch notes?

Yep, same here. Played, I think, 2 days ago without issues…Tried the Fix and Repair, without success. Pretty sad this season, first issues with login at launch and non-resetted progress, then issue with Tree of Whispers reward cache and now this. :frowning:

I can’t get into Diablo IV: when I select a character, I get the message “There was an error. (Code 316610)”.

  • Platform: PC (Battle.net)
  • Region: Europe

How the issue has progressed:

  • At first, the error only appeared with some characters, and I could still log in with others.
  • Now it appears with all my characters, across different classes.
  • I created a new character and can’t log in with it either.

What I’ve already tried, with no success:

  • Restarting my PC, Battle.net and the game.
  • Logging out of Battle.net and logging back in.
  • Running Scan and Repair on the game files from Battle.net.
  • Changing the difficulty before logging in.
  • Creating a new character.

Well they took almost a full day to fix the bugged whispers, so

same error code. did see 2 player spam ability 2 minutes straight stand still at a world boss before it even spawned. thought they crashed me

I have same issue, played normally a couple hours ago, now no charachteer is working. Blizzzard needs to fix this asap
