Error 316719 when trying to start on character selection screen

getting this error code 316719 when lauching any character on character selection screen. I’m able to create characters but not to start the game…

Wish Blizzard would output actual errors along with the error code. My assumption would be that 316719 is something along the lines of no servers available to isntantiate an instance of the game - being that the queues are ~120mins long at this point.

As a programmer myself, I would never just throw an error code without any additional message to an end user. It means nothing to them (us)…

You should specify what the problem is. And what the end-user is expected to do about it. For example, should we just wait or restart the client?

As deffan say, 1 Rule for Debug or Codeout, make a spezific note for enduser

Same here. I am wondering if we should completely restart D4 or wait it out in the Character Lobby? :confused:

I think reconnect is the “best” way. I stay at the Character Screen since an hour and no reconnect is possible. decide by your own :slight_smile:

Best feeling: Play 5 mins, getting error 316719 , reentering the game, waiting endlessly in the queue, finally got it to Login…aaaaaaand …another error has occured. No code, just error. Waiting again. Applause. :clap:

Basically, got to play for a few minutes. Have to spend 1,5 hours in queue. Then got to play a few minutes, and now again, 1,5 hours in queue…

What is tested here exactly? The queue?

In fact, I have feedback about the queuing system. Why aren’t you placed first in queue if you happened to get disconnected? Why on earth do you end up last in queue? To ensure your customers experience maximum frustration and anger?

Yes but you describe the normal situation. Here you have that everyone disced and everyone requeued. So.

Error 316719 for like 20 minutes now

I know beta testing involves crashing, but this is correct - you shouldnt wait another hour if you get booted by no fault of your own.

Presumably they have many fixes to deploy in waiting already, so I have every faith blizz are already on the case, squashing bugs like damn windshield!
