Changing my texture quality to medium seemed to fix the known memory leak issue/problem present on high…until I restart the game. Once closed, a boot up results in maxed out memory usage of my 2070 despite Medium Texture, 16x Ani, High Shadow, Dynamic/Soft on, Med Shader, Low SSAO, Med Fog, High Clutter, Med Fur, High Water Sim, High Anti Alias, Med Geometric, High Terrain & Physics, Med Particles, Low Reflection, Screen Space on, Distortion off, and low FX off.
Changing back to high then AGAIN back to medium fixes it, and leaves my GPU memory in what seems to be more a 5-6~ GB usage range rather than 7.8-8~ -
Last night for my first time playing, I was regularly hitting 50-98% GPU usage on the ‘3D’ part of task manager. A lot. Until I learned the texture fix + adjusted other settings, it was constantly pendulum-ing.
Until now. After waking up and getting on, it has been a near constant 0-5% on the ‘3D’ portion of Win10 Task Manager, with only occasional spikes to maybe 20-30%.
I plan to restart the game soon, and see if that helps fix any of these things and for more testing, but figure its worth reporting.
(Enjoying the game so far, but the tech issues are certainly cause for concern!)
EDIT - Out of curiosity, I tried reinstalling/updating drivers to be the absolute newest “game ready”, and now on the same settings my Dedicated GPU Memory Usage is equivalent to what it was when i was having the stutter/memory leak issues…on the settings id been playing on all morning where it wasnt doing that. Sitting at 95% video memory usage on a 2070 at medium texture settings does not feel right…
