I love the direction the D4 Team took with highlighting Greater Affixes with a star symbol, but I do feel like this trend needs to continue especially because we have many items that drop with a blue or yellow color and they can be easily missed (because we train ourselves in not looking at those colors past a certain point).
We’re talking Elixirs, Glyps, NMD Sigils, Key/Quest/Story items etc. But especially the new Tempering Manuals.
Luckily the Temp Manuals get sent to your stash if you happen to miss them, but I do see the lack of icons on at least these new items as a missed opportunity seeing how they are NEW and this is the Season of Loot which should emphasize them.
So I would very much encourage the Dev team to take a look at this. Make sure they don’t overdo it. Just drop 100 random items on the ground in your test server and see how many items with symbols on them are too many. Which of them should be prioritized for clarity’s sake (because you do pride yourself on visual clarity). They are “rare” items anyway so I don’t think there’s a case where you’ll have too many symbols. 1-2 elixirs with an icon, a Tempering Manual with an icon and 10 pieces of loot out of which 1 will have a GA icon. I think that’s fair.
This will also be a nice evergreen feature to add if you think about future Seasons, where you may have Seasonal specific items drop, and those could have the leaf icon that already exists in the game. It’s just something to think about. I say it will definitely help people when looking at loot on the ground.
