Feedback - Dungeons

First thing, the mechanics to advace through a dungeon feel repetitive, although I will not touch much on this because it might be a thing where we’re only playing the 1st zone and there will be more alternatives in other regions.

The main point I want to talk about is backtracking. It feels awful to go back half the dungeon just to find an enemy that you missed. Either make layouts more linear so these key enemies to progress are unmissable, more circular so the backtracking is minimal, or have an excess of these key enemies so if you miss a couple you don’t have to go back half the dungeon.

Hopefully theres a lot more variation in later game. But i agree. Dungeons need more work if this is how they’re going to be.

Simple Example: Multiple levels. And a boss at the bottom floor would be fine.

Or, they need more intersting mechanics instead of finding a key. Or killing all monsters (like the den of evil). Just to open the door everytime.

It all seems a bit lazy. Fingers crossed theres more to it late game!

This post needs more votes. Reddit is full of the lacklustre dungeon discussions.

They said they have 150 dungeons, and if they all feel like this, I don’t know …Blizzard is in for a lot of trouble and backlash

Yeah for sure, lets see what happens.

Yeah the content feels horrible right now. Every “cellar” is identical and after the 3d or 4th dungeon the whole thing seems like copy paste. destroy the pillar with -insert- fallen skeleton bandit or whatever. Heck the only interesting thing ive seen so far is the butcher showing up at a dungeon entrance

Yep. All very formulaic and forgettable. Hopefully some of them can be redesigned to feel more memorable.

About Diablo 4
First a little bit about dungerons. If You finish them, you have to go back at the beginning of this level… It schould be more “portals” to abandon it faster. I had to waste a lot of time to go back. In Diablo 3 when you finished it was another “exit” also ath the end of the level.
Monster. Some of them are really tough to kill them (Boss like Lilith’s Lament) and some are really very fast, it is impossible to try the battle from distance. Maybe more choose options of level difficulty (easier) could help?
Some Side Quests are impossible to finish it. For example you go along the navigation to one “blue” place and then there is no any options to make some quests -example: Motivation for the Knights, they training. What should i do to finish it?
The navgation to all quests, Dungeons another places schould faster, more easy, otherwise so long running from A to B ist a wasting of time :frowning:
In Diablo Immortal You can mark any place of the small Map and move there straightaway. In Diablo 4 this option is missing.
Moving of rang from another equipment is missing. When i find better item, then i cannot move the rang from older one :frowning:
Graphic and sound are very good. Details incredible :slight_smile:
The World is HUGE - a lot of Dungeons, Basements and another things :slight_smile:
Climate is dark and awful and i like it. (Dungeons) :slight_smile:
Zoom option is also very good Idea :slight_smile:
Actually I am at 25 lvl with the Sorceress and at 10 with the Barbarian.
I hope You Take a look of this Feedback and fint the solutions for the problems, that i mentioned .
Generally You did a great Job guys and I thank You for it.
I was ,I am and I will still to be fan of Diablo :slight_smile:

  • When you finish a dungeon you can press T to port out to the entrance.

  • The “motivation for the knights” quest is intended to get you to use Emotes. Hit E and choose “Cheer” and you’ll say something inspiring (which completes the quests.) I found a similar quest about giving thanks at a shrine. Couldn’t figure out what to do, until I remembered the Emote function has a “Thanks” as well. (IMO is this a lot better than just “click on the shrine”)

you can teleport to the start of the dungeon by opening your map and clicking on the stair icon at the start of the dungeon

You can also press E and choose the “Leave Dungeon”-Option and you will be spawned at the entrance.

I just have one negative point, we are offered a game that can be played in a group and I find it really unfortunate that there is no system for grouping up when entering dungeons. Of course, you have to keep the possibility of playing solo.
I agree there is a chat channel but that would be so much more convenient.

strongholds and even the random open world events are way better than unlock the door and kill the boss

Hello, Blizzard, Dungeons are fun, however, very repetitive. You could get some insights on Path of Exile’s legendary maps, as they have very varied mechanics.
